Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA
Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.
There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. The chicks will continue to grow in the nest for about three to four weeks before fledging. More information about the cams, set-up or to make a donation please visit alyssasnaturesanctuary.org.

I’ve been on the phone with a very sweet friend. We got carried away enjoying our conversation. I know we talked over 2 hours 40 minutes but we haven’t talked in a good while.
Thats great Debbie and you both had time to talk😘
Yes, I’m usually free in the afternoon if I’m not out of town.
@PamCo_Home I was going to show you a different gingerbread house from a few years ago at another resort.
Just gorgeous — so much detail 😘
Such a beautiful desplay😍
People actually eat inside a gingerbread house? Is that what I’m seeing, with the chairs and table?
I cant say for sure
It is possible! Here is an outdated but informational article. Fairmont Hotel, San francisco. The gingerbread house will open next week, on Saturday, November 22. The hotel will host an opening ceremony for the sugary creation, starting at 11 am. The hotel also offers options to actually dine inside the house, with options for dinner, holiday tea, breakfast, and more. Dinner in the gingerbread house can host up to 10 guests for 2 hours, with a pre-fix menu available. A holiday tea reservation can fit the same number of people, and you can add on champagne and caviar if you… Read more »
I think I’ll skip the dinner! Especially if it is that much a person. Maybe it is for all 10 people so $100 per person. Still too expensive for me.
I agree. I just can’t believe I could eat inside a gingerbread house. I wonder if it smells like gingerbread in there.
I wonder how much of it is edible.
Maybe they have a portion of it that’s edible and then they fix it every year. Or maybe a menu or something is edible, etc.
It probably has a light metal frame that is tiled in gingerbread.
True, it would have to have something to keep it standing. So maybe gingerbread cookies will have to do. I bet they have some kind of special memento, though. Back in a couple of minutes
Hey. I had to take care of the baby. She was out for a while. 😉
Are you sure you weren’t out too?
😂🤣No . . . I was busy watching for success so I could get back inside. I’m wide awake! Still haven’t eaten. Thinking about a grape PBJ to start with.
😁. I just hoped your face didn’t land in mashed potatoes! I’m sorry Karen, I’m just trying to make a little joke. I know it is really a serious thing and it does worry me. A pbj sounds good to me. I could eat that!
I laughed. It was funny. I didn’t take it wrong. I don’t usually snore though. 😄 Dutchess had to inspect the entire yard. No mice anywhere! 🤩 Did u eat?
Yea I’m still eating on the Cracker Barrel meatloaf. I will have three meals off that meatloaf!
What else did it come with? Are you still eating the sides?
I got green beans and turnip greens, and I had some left over veggies I had cooked before. That helps to spread the sides 3 meals with the meat loaf.
Love veggies!
I didn’t care much for the turnip greens, probably canned but they didn’t put in some meat, probably country ham. Some of the veggies I cooked was a mixture including Brussels sprouts. I really didn’t like those much but I ate them!I think my favorite Brussels sprouts is just frozen, add salt and olive oil, cook in the microwave until tender.
Golly . . . I am so ready now for some turnip greens in any kind of pork, and Brussels sprouts in butter or oil. Maybe tomorrow. . . . I can dream. 😊
You go Karen! Do you ever bring take out home from restaurants?
Oh, and the “watching for success”. 😂🤣😁🥰
🧐🧐. 😅
Did she receive applause?
Just a mild cooing is her thing. Like a baby. Tail wags a million miles a minute.
Awwwww. Wish I could see.
I wish I could take a little video but I haven’t learned how to do that yet.
Good afternoon. We had a fun time at the street fair. I bought quite a few things. We had pizza to eat. It was 79°
This is a Cane Corso Mastiff
This a Calico cat…..like Michi
……………
I bought these sandals which can be worn two ways
I love the soles
Cute sandals; love the color 💝
Thanks Pam. I liked the color too.
Nice!
They are great and look comfy😃
What a great time. You and Rick just have so much fun. Are the people in the photo friends? Oh yum pizza and beer.
The two men are the guys I always buy jerky from. They live in Albuquerque….so in a way they are friends.
Steve Nunez does stuff the bus, well known in Tucson….we talk to him every year and buy him a beer.
You make friends with everyone. That is great.
Very cool 😘
You look so cute Ardyth😘
Hey Ardyth ♥ Perfect weather for the Fair — From the pix, doesn’t look to be over-crowded 😁
Wow, someone did a lot of work creating the flamingos; beautiful work 🌵
It was pretty busy, busier than Fridays.
I love that dog breed, mixed with a Mastiff its a huge dog and very stoic, it still looks young, such good pictures and there’s flowers blooming😍
The dog is young and weighs 140 and has a brother at home
I love the Mastiffs; they’re such great dogs — i don’t know anyone who can afford to feed 2 of them 😄
Absolutely huge dog! Well-respected for guarding and protecting. I’m thinking I would probably feel safe. ☺️
I cannot imagine a large dog in my house
Me either. My little barky gives me a lot of protection. 🙂
I’m chilled hoping under the covers to warm up
Get those tootsies warmed, and the girls too.
watched Mary Poppins and now Chitty Chitty Bang Bang on TCM, sipping tea and I see my helper outside shoveling, poor guy..it’s 11 and the feels like is -2, poor guy…I’ll give him a bit extra $..the mini market was fun, the snow was just starting when we left and it was so pretty out in the country…started snowing harder and blowing a bit as we were leaving…bought a cranberry orange scone, banana bread granola, a cute snowman decoration and little house that DH wanted, he thought it looks like ours so we did…bbl
oh! also got a peppermint chai and avocado roasted bagel (bagel might have been an everything bagel? had seeds), was so good..and DH was in this coffee shop for the first time, got an eggs and keto gravy bowl…went to a gift shop for little flavored coffees for gifts also.
How did you like the peppermint chai?
I have been eating wild blueberry scones, I really love scones😋
Everyone is eating good today.
Hi Lynn ♥ Sounds like a fun/yummy day; i’m watching the same movies 💗 Glad it’s the helper outside and not you … brrrr
What a nice afternoon Lynn. Good food!
I’m checking in, got some shoveling done-got the back steps cleared and usable again, now doing a load of laundry, its very cold am warming up with a cup of chai tea. No more shoveling today I’m sticking to inside stuff now😘
Glad you’re out of the bone-chilling cold. Jade has to be thrilled 💗
stay warm and cozy, Julie 😘
I tried to Lynn the wind is bad
Had a pair of gloves and mittens on the wind is bitting cold, Jade has finally left me alone and is sleeping, she was pretty happy to see me😻
Awwwwww. I knew she would be. That baby loves her mama. You are her support human.
Stay warm.
Howdy-do BellaFam 💖 Talked to a repair tech at the phone co. re: the landline; this guy seemed to know what he was talking about, unlike those idiots from yesterday. 🙄 Anyway, i have an appt on Mon to get the dial tone. If there’s another issue, Chuck told me there’s actually an office in town that i can go make a fuss. And i will 😏 How hard can it be to just do your stinking job???? Grrrrr 😠 Sunny and about 55-57 today 🌞 Chuck’s making pizza on that ratty old pan; i got him a pampered chef… Read more »
Hi Pam it is ridiculous to have so much trouble just to get a dial tone on a land phone you are paying for. Does this have anything to do with getting fiber optic?
Hi Debbie ♥ this landline issue is directly connected to a service i had canceled and the tech couldn’t/wouldn’t take the time to make sure that the service i wanted was still alive and well.
Good grief.
No more land lines in 2029 My Mom and Dad got a notice about it, what a great gift for Chuck😍 Jade prefers the mouse giving to her 😂I found this info was checking for Wisconsin
Hi Julie ♥ the landline is a product of centurylink; i don’t see them discontinuing the product any time soon.
I think ours ends in two years…sad really. I have an old old pizza pan, still use it. I know the Pampered Chef ones are nice.
Hi Lynn ♥ Chuck’s pizza pan is so warped, it looks like a frisbee that’s been left out in the sun too long 🙄😄
I really hate to see landlines go completely. What if the tower goes down? What if we have some other problem with our new electronic gadgets and wires and signals etc? Landlines are usually the only true thing. (Unless someone is not doing their job.) A lot of senior groups are still recommending the seniors keep landlines if possible. 😥
I have had the same land telephone number since 1980! Except the area code which was changed once. Now instead of changing area coded they do overlapping codes. The landline is good because we have extensions. I can answer it in 5 places in the house. If a mutual friend or family calls Jo can be on one extension in the living room and I can be in another in the kitchen or bedroom. Can’t do that with a cell.
I’m glad they don’t change area codes any more. I really think it’s a mistake to do away with the old stuff this time. 🤯
St Francis of Assisi. My favorite.
Not sure St Francis had this particular scenario in mind … 😄
🤔 Maybe he liked pizza ? 🤣
