Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA

Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.

There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. The chicks will continue to grow in the nest for about three to four weeks before fledging. More information about the cams, set-up or to make a donation please visit alyssasnaturesanctuary.org.

Think I’m getting too old for daylight time changes. 👵 Before going to bed last night, i had the stove clock leaping forward an hour and the microwave clock following suit. I must’ve stood in that kitchen a full minute before realizing i was heading the wrong direction. ⏱ I really hate changing time settings. ⏱

Hi Pam, I didn’t know till this morning, got up at usual time and none of the Sunday shows were on? then put 2 and 2 together. I just changed the stove clock I don’t change my bedroom clock I just add or subtract a hour. This cartoon made me laugh out loud😂I think the head is my favorite😂

Funny, Julie. 😂 The witch is my favorite. I go around the house for days, being upset that this happened because of the early daylight, and that happened because of the early darkness, etc. My body has a hard time adjusting.

Hi Pam. 😍 That fear of going in the wrong direction haunted me all during my working life. It is just such an unnatural thing to do – changing time! I’m glad you figured it out before morning. 🥰

I worried about it all the time, afraid I did it wrong and would be late for work.

Oh Pam that comic is hilarious! How funny. Pretty funny about you going in the wrong direction, but don’t tell anyone, it nearly happens to me every year!

I don’t think it is a River but a concrete drainage area for Monsoon season. Ardy can correct me if I’m wrong.

so no emptying into a holding pond or lake type area, just river flowing to no where. We store water here

KyDebbie

So I was wrong. Seems I remembered this concrete bottom thing but I guess that was my imagination. Thanks for correcting it.

Rillito river,, they are dry river beds in Tucson and run only when it rains and then the water soaks in, they try to divert some …..

Thanks Ardyth. 🫠 I guess it has to soak in and dry out, or it would be river again, or a lake. Makes sense.
