Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA

Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.

There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. The chicks will continue to grow in the nest for about three to four weeks before fledging. More information about the cams, set-up or to make a donation please visit alyssasnaturesanctuary.org.

That was a long 15 or 20 minutes, I’m sure. In the long run, probably the best 15 to 20 minutes you’ve ever spent. I don’t even want to think about what would have happened if you hadn’t shown up and rescued her.

Hello, I really haven’t been doing much of anything today. I did give myself a pedicure and polish my toenails this morning. Rick took my car to the car wash because he had a free coupon for a free car wash only which he drives it through . Anyway, when he brings it home then I go out and kind of wipe it off where it didn’t get wiped off. Real good and I noticed scratches on the hood and we all know where those came from… Roger, so I have just ordered a car cover. It might be a… Read more »

You have a Kia SUV? I got a Kia the very first year they came out. A sedan was the only style available. Couldn’t beat the price anywhere. It did great! The only problem I had was that parts and repair were expensive, since they were foreign parts. The timing belt on my Kia cost me $1, 200 to repair. The timing belt on my Ford Escort cost me $182 to repair. Geezo-Schmeezo! I’m thinking it has probably gotten better over the years.

My old KIA has sun damage on the right side that gets the sun and it will happen to this one so I am glad I bought it.
I bought a dash cover to protect it, I have bought those for all my cars here in AZ

Good afternoon…so this morning I had just sat down with my coffee and was looking at my IPAD…started reading this post and I’m like oh no…saw a picture of a dog and her name and knew the dog..then read the post…the lady I walk with was out of town with her DH and kids..her dog was at her sister’s…the sister let her out to pee at 1 a.m. and the dog took off so was out all night! and it was bitter cold..my mom and I drove around near where the sister lives (she doesn’t have a car and is… Read more »

a neighbor guided me down the steps, couldn’t see with the dog in front of me…went to the car and he opened the door for me…got in and shut the door…..whew!!!! she was in and safe..snuggled her in my arms and held her, I’d been texting with the owner whose DH was on the way…waited maybe half an hour or so and at first she was really shaking (cold but maybe also a bit scared) and finally stopped shaking so much…it’s a miracle that she went all the way back to her home and so glad I found her.
