Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA
Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.
There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. The chicks will continue to grow in the nest for about three to four weeks before fledging. More information about the cams, set-up or to make a donation please visit alyssasnaturesanctuary.org.

Going to eat pizza now and leaving at 6:00.
I hope Karen is getting a little better.
Have fun Ardy! You will be late for sleep.
Where is Ardyth going? I can’t find it.

Thank you Ardyth. 🙂
Good afternoon/evening BellaFam 💖
Gave myself a nice break from ‘over-fooding’ yesterday, had yogurt and crackers for lunch, then later some Dots pretzels to get the meds down. So when Chuck said he’d cook today, i was very happy; mashed potatoes with boiled cabbage and a meatloaf thing; it was very good. 😋 Nice to have the normal Hallmark channel back; Murder She Wrote along with other regular mysteries.
Score one for the kitten ↓↓
I have 32 MSW shows recorded, love them.
I dont want to say I am dieting but I said I was going to eat my way thru Dec. and I did!!!!!!!!!!!! Gained weight too.
6 months to lose 20 lbs.
So you hope to lose 20 pounds in 6 months?
I do hope!!!
You can do it! Go Ardy!
😁
Not easy, but it can be done; and that’s not too aggressive of a goal.
That’s only three and a half pounds a month. You can do that easy, Ardyth. You don’t eat much normally. 😊
Its a lot, ardy. I know how hard it is. Good luck !
😋
You had a nice day Pam! Chuck cooking and MSW all in one day! Doesn’t get much better than that! 😅 Cute cartoon. 🤣
I missed this post Pam. Not sure how. It is good to eat light occasionally. That Chuck, he can cook! Are you enjoying the fiber optic still? And now I forget what kind of tv service you have.
I went to peek in on the eagle nest at NEFL. A chatter referred to something she had never seen before that started at 3:53. Gabby was on the 2 babies and Beau flew in! Folks this was AM, not PM. Middle of the night dark! For about 45 minutes Beau couldn’t take his eyes off the babies. Once tried to feed them, rearranging straw, tried to cover babies, show affection toward Gabby, laid down beside her. This went on about 45 minutes then he laid down beside her and they went asleep. Side by side. I think he was… Read more »
I saw that on FB
This was after the active part when they went to sleep.
How sweet, there were other pictures. I rarely go there since it isnt SPO
💞
Literally, Debbie. I could almost feel those emotions. ♥️🥰 It looked to me like a couple of times he just wanted to touch his babies.
I think he might have. And this was the middle of the night, like I can’t wait till morning! If he were human he would change the diapers in the middle of the night then rock the baby.
For sure, and then go get food in the morning and be ready for more. 😍
😁
I talked to Julie. Her Dad used the wheelchair at the table last night, but it doesn’t sound like it is working out very well. It is very heavy. Julie said she struggled to get it in the car, no way her mother could. They would have to take some doors off in the house. It is hard to get over different heights of carpet. I told her to talk with his doctor, Medicare will probably buy him one but don’t say he has this one. The doctor can send him somewhere to be fitted with a wheelchair to better… Read more »
I suppose any wheel chair would have trouble going over the carpet. That is why Laura had tile installed and had to have someone get the hump out when coming into the house.
I’ve heard somewhere that there are groups that help seniors remodify their homes to support wheelchairs, etc., at little to no cost. I just haven’t paid any attention to them and can’t remember who the groups are. I will pay more attention.
I have heard of such groups, or just do repairs. My parents got some help with repairs. The problem is a lot of these groups are in cities or at least good sized towns. I imagine they fan out some.
I hope there are some people that can go to outlying areas. I’m going to check into that.
Good morning Bella Buds. We are warm compared to many of you, 39 and partly cloudy. I have just regular things to do today. I want to access my food situation and make a grocery list of what I need. I plan to go to Walmart Monday. I also want to make a hamburger veggie soup next week. I haven’t made the hamburger version in a really long time, just the stew meat version. Ive never used a recipe for this type of soup, but I’ve been looking at recipes to maybe improve it. Like what combo of diced tomatoes,… Read more »
I have made hamb soup for years!!! I don’t like barley so dont use that.
Thanks Ardy sounds good. I like the idea of the stewed tomatoes and ketchup. I have a really good sugar free ketchup that is sweetened with sucralose, it tastes much like Heinz. I would not use the barley either but would add potatoes for Jo and I would try to pick them out of my bowl. I just got a hankering for this kind of soup.
Potatoes are easy to pick out. This recipe was from one of my Uncles.
Yea, it won’t hurt me if I get a little anyway.
😘
It does sound good Debbie.
I copied this recipe, Ardyth. I’m going to try and make it. It sounds good.
Hi Debbie, I will chime in on my recipe for hamburger soup. I made this just two days ago. Here are the changes I made: I used garlic powder instead of cloves, Italian style diced tomatoes instead of regular diced and no italian seasoning and only one tsp of worcestershire sauce, no bay leaf (I am not sure what a bay leaf does) and 4 cups of frozen veggies. I got the liquid ingredients to boiling and then just added everything else. I think it took about 30 -35 for all the veggies to be cooked. This is the first… Read more »
I used ground chuck from Walmart and it was over $7.00 a pound. I couldn’t believe it.
WOW!!
YIKES! That $$$ is outrageous
i know!!! I just looked at Walmart website and the cheapest hamburger they have is $5.94 and that is 73% lean and 27% fat.
Same here. Sure glad our prices went down. 😟
My recipe doesnt call for cloves…….I do use a bay leaf. I use stewed tomatoes.
I dont care for bagged veggies in soups myself…Rick usually uses fresh.
I used to do fresh but my hands won’t let me do that much chopping anymore. I think it tastes just as good with frozen. I have never used a bay leaf. What kind of flavor do you think it adds?
I am not really sure but we always put one in…lol
Thank you Becki. I printed out the recipe and made note of your changes. I had read about the Italian style tomatoes at Decorah and already put them on the grocery list. Is that the same as the tomatoes that say basil and oregano? What did you think of the tomato soup? Some recipes call for paste, sauce, various canned tomatoes, even ketchup. I put tomato soup in my meatloaf. Not on, IN. A bay leaf is common in tomato based soup and stews. One recipe calls for Marjoram I’m curious about that.
THANKS again.
our soup is thinner
which i like
This is mine
I use Walmart brand. It is Italian with Basil, Garlic and Oregano. This is the first time I have used tomato soup. Everything came together with a very good flavor. I think this is the best tasting hamberger veggie soup I have made.
..
Got it! I used to buy these kind of tomatoes a lot. I’ve always bought Del Monte but bet these are the exact same.
And they have them in “no salt added” form also.
Thanks Becki! And you used the Italian tomatoes AND tomato soup?
Yup!!
Sounds good.
Becki, I like this recipe too. I’m going to copy it also. I have a hard time chopping stuff up with my hands, so I will try this one too. Thank you for posting it. 🙂
Julie: New slipper boots gm coffee clinks pills

Indoor or outdoor boots?
I don’t know.
I forgot to tell you that haircuts have gone up $2 every Jan.
Jayne told me that senior cuts went ↓↓down ↓↓ by $2 so they are $22 now. If you go on Mon or Wed. they are $20 for seniors.
Good morning Ardy. You don’t often hear about a price drop! Congrats.
No you dont
I bet perms are really expensive these days.
