Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA
Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.
There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. Good morning…doing some laundry, did litter boxes….DH is going to the Thanksgiving community meal with me..maybe we can walk the dogs later, will be in the 50s and it’s sunny. I had pumpkin spice coffee, now drinking the apple spice tea. I just remembered I might try to do some more raking today.

Hi Julie…there are some days coming up this week that will be ok for outside working…a couple of them, chance of rain, though.

Today is our last nice day. It turns colder and rain. Tuesday is the worst day and I have to go to Somerset.

I uncovered Casey. We were in my bedroom and Casey yelled Jo loud. The man looked startled and I said that is my parrot.

Good morning Lynn. Nice to go to the community meal together. We have one of those too, on Thanksgiving day! I was surprised when it started and it was done on the big day itself. I was started by one woman who basically did it herself, cost and all. Then it grew, and grew. Now lots of volunteers, held in the biggest church here. Plans canceled for today, Judy’s brother is sick,has a nurse coming to the house, he’s on hospice so no bringing him to the ER. He fell last night and has bad stomach pain. He wasn’t injured in the fall. But Judy had a heck of a time getting him up and she doesn’t want to leave him alone….I told her to keep me posted
Oh no Julie. I really hate hearing this. I don’t really understand why he can’t go to ER. Hospice care includes anything that keeps the patient comfortable, but nothing that prolongs life. Seems an ER could have brought quicker relief, no waiting until morning to get a nurse to the house. Of course Judy needs to be with Gary. My heart is going out to Judy and Gary. Oh no Julie. I guess its different when you are on hospice-you are already under care, it would be different if he wasn’t on hospice-Judy jumped the gun and put him on it. So his care is different. He normally is doing good on his own. He meets with the hospice nurse but I think that’s all it is. He hasn’t need any help from hospice other than having to meet with the nurse-he hasn’t had any pain,has been going about his life normally. that’s too bad, sorry for Judy…it seems here that often people call the ambulance to help them get someone up if they can’t after they fall. and…my FIL was on hospice, but we took him off so he could get some services that he couldn’t…she could do that maybe
Hi Lynn and good morning, that’s interesting about your FIL and hospice. I feel bad for her too I didn’t know that that hospice could change services on how you are being treated? I’m not sure Judy did either?
well, DH wasn’t happy when they charged him a lot for his eye treatment and then said they wouldn’t do it anymore…now he can get the treatments if DH wants to take him and it will be paid for…we won’t have a nurse stopping by every so often but don’t think we need that and he doesn’t need the oxygen all the time (they brought that), but he does get breathing treatments, the caregivers do that. Judy just jumps the gun, gets moving to fast. I think some times it seems like she makes him worse than he is?and that’s not good for him either
She wants to be nurse maid herself. I’m not a big fan of hospice until we are certain. I think Gary was helped more by treatment than they thought he would.
I know the nurse is coming and I suppose she is authorized to give him what is needed for the pain. But I can’t see hospice keeping him from the ER. There is nothing Judy can do to make him use his walker, hopefully after this fall he will do better. A suggestion might be if he doesn’t want to use the walker, then maybe he will consent to using 2 canes when he is not feeling well, or feels like a fall risk.
The nurse just left got his vomiting under control, gave her some meds. I told her to make some jello for him-he can’t eat till later. He’s sleeping now after being sick all night and Judy was up with him all night she was going to bed now
When my Dad was so sick he drank warm jello. It was easier for him than eating it. Is the vomiting new, I mean for now.
