Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA

Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.

There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. The chicks will continue to grow in the nest for about three to four weeks before fledging. More information about the cams, set-up or to make a donation please visit alyssasnaturesanctuary.org.

I would say an egg by tomo; Lily’s doing a lot of stomping and reinforcement of the nest.

😁 I was surprised how long Lily stayed on a nest with no babies or eggs. She went through about 3 foot stomping episodes, resting in between.

Geese have become such a problem here in Wisconsin, you don’t want to go to a park on the lake its covers in Geese poop-and they are very mean will chase you walking or riding a bike, we call them Sky Carp here

Made it back inside for the opening of the Olympics😍 went for a walk, went to the hoses behind mine to ask about the cat, Ib do think it belongs to someone on that street lots of cat tracks and with the people I was able to talk to they pointed out 2 houses that have cats that look like the one that’s coming here to get a free meal, the cat is a unfixed male as the cat piss is all over the back door and stinks to high heaven gosh I can’t stand that smell😫 so I won’t… Read more »

Two houses identified for me each have a cat that looks like the one coming over here no answer to the door so I wrote on their snow covered combined drive ways “Keep your cat home”😃just maybe they will see it before the snow melts?

You could feed it, just as far from the house as possible.

I don’t want it hanging around the house- I don’t want another cat around Jade when she will be outside more soon and I don’t need to be feeding someone elses cat, and don’t want it around my bird feeders, its not a novelty its a pita and a big pita when spring is here and baby birds, fabbits are around and no roaming cat is going to be coming in my yard and kill everything because that’s what they do they kill the babies

that’s how I feel about my neighbors’ cats but not much I can do about it..they go after birds, terrorize squirrels, make my dogs go crazy and we have enough with them as it is..poop in the yard, on and on…

Have you talked to them?I draw the line at pooping in my garden. Could you let the dogs chase the cats? make them afraid to come in the yard? I use the garden hose and spray with water-it doesn’t hurt the cat but it does keep them away, people don’t think or realize that a roaming cat does become a problem for other people, and problem solved keep your cat in your house, save the birds and no stepping in cat poop

yes…I would never let them but they have and it’s VERY dangerous for our dogs, especially Bane! I don’t want him to get hit by a car! I use a squirt bottle. they haven’t pooped in the yard in awhile I don’t think but once or twice our dogs got to it before it was picked up, not good!

Her story is so bizzar-let me see if I remember it? she is one of 6 kids to a single Dad, who had his children by surrogate, he must be very rich to have children this way-he’s a good father😍I like that she came back to skating after retiring at the age of 16, she wanted to pursue a normal life. After years of a strict training schedualand has come back under her own terms, Like the music she skates to, the food she eats. She does have a mother figure in her life a woman who is with her father
