Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA
Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.
There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. I love police dogs. The first time I met one when I started working for the police department, I was so scared. They don’t look scary until you’re right up next to them. Then it’s like, whoa! Did you guys get the popcorn out yet, Ardyth?

I am very curious and never scared for the most part.
I’m always curious too and want to see. Just be ready to duck.
I try to be safe when I am out looking and I knew better than to go out to take pics of them when they walked by.
If a bad guy is in the area it is probably a bigger danger of him trying to get inside than a shoot out with cops.

More action in our hood right now…………We have cops in the hood now…… One by Gary’s on the side of his house, the end of our street has cops parked with lights on. And one drove thru the cul de sac really slow….they must be looking for someone.

OUR cop moved down to the end of the street now and two at the other end with lights on…I had to look and see where they went.
Be sure doors are locked.
Doors are open…..its not a big deal when we can see what’s going on.
Its daylight now if it was dark out i would have thr doors locked and looking out a window.

We still have heavy winds; should ease up around 7p/MST; unfortunately, no rain. And we’ve kept power; so that’s exciting.

Pam, I’m so glad you have kept power. How does the electric company make the decision to cut off power? I mean, it was going to be turned off on purpose, not by accident. I sure hope you continue to keep power. Oh now, that cartoon is really funny.
They’re concerned with downed lines causing fires that would spread horrifically with the winds. How the decision is made beats me 🤔 Guess the winds didn’t get to the speeds that were expected, thankfully. Being forewarned/semi-preprared was a good thing, tho’. I made sure both phone/Kindle were well charged.
i understand the reasons for shutting down. I’m just glad you have power. I’m going to get better prepared around here. Some kind of supplementary heat. Some kind of AC power for refrigerators and some way to heat food. Minimal to make it bearable.

I woke up to strong winds this morning and then they died down and then the rain came and it’s been raining off and on until about an hour ago Some of the rain heavy some of the rain light.
