Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA

Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.

There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. The chicks will continue to grow in the nest for about three to four weeks before fledging. More information about the cams, set-up or to make a donation please visit alyssasnaturesanctuary.org.

It’s so bad, it’s even crossing the highway. It doesn’t look like structures are in danger

There was a horrendous accident on I-25 this morning, about 1 mile south of Pueblo; 30-vehicles, including semis; 4 fatalities, so far. 😢 Highway’s been closed both north/south. The winds caused zero visibility on that stretch. There’s one just like that between Phoenix and Casa Grande — just open area with nothing to stop the dirt/tumbleweeds from reducing visibility to zero.

Good evening…didn’t really go out today, except for a few minutes when Dh was out with the dogs. It wasn’t as warm as I thought it would be. I didn’t do much, a little of this and that, read, took a couple short naps. We just got a text from DS, a picture of him in an ad for Smartwool…not sure how many pictures he’s in, just saw the one. He’s done a lot of that, used to be in ads for The North Face. We’re going to have BBQ and of course, I’ll watch the Olympics.

I know most of your son’s success is he kicked butt in so many races. But at this point in his career, I can’t help but believe some of it is because he is drop dead handsome!

Today, I took husband to his doctor appointment, went to Lowe’s for a few household items, went to Mill Outlet, an old time fabric shop, got gas and a few other little things like that. Just enough to wear me out.

Karen, it’s not the stores/stops. it’s the getting in/out of the car that takes all the energy 😔

Just getting in and out of the car and walking in and out so many times is enough to tire you out.

You don’t even need to shop when you go so many places to tire out.

Let people know you care about them. Our high school just lost a 15 year old girl during softball practice. She died of a blood clot in her lung. They didn’t mention her having any preliminary signs of anything wrong. A really good kid.

That is just so sad, Debbie. Her poor family. 🙏 I am praying for them. God must have thought he needed her more. What a shock, though. Easier on the individual, but really hard on the people that care about them. 🙁😥 I try to smile at folks when I’m out and about and spread cheer, but it’s getting harder every day. Just have to keep trying though, maybe they will need that one smile later.

I’ve been in the situation several times when we lost a student at school. It was always very emotional, difficult to deal with.

Yes, it is very tragic and it’s really hard on the other students, they have a bond even if they don’t know each other. We lost a couple at my high school.
