Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA
Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.
There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. Who me? Naw, we are low keyed with birthdays, just give a card. Never have done any special celebration. Culver’s and Cracker Barrel will give a free dessert which I’ll give to Jo. The “special” part of the birthday is the cards, posts, emails, all the greetings that make me feel special and cared about. Those are the real spice of my birthday. It is what I enjoy the most.

So far. I had ham and peaches for lunch. For supper I have baked catfish, roaster Brussels sprouts, mushrooms, sweet potato and baby carrot. 4 veggies but all low calorie except the potato, so I eat a little bit.

I had a salad from a big celery root which i had cooked, carrots, onions, tomato and 2 potatoes. Leftovers for tomo.
I had smoked trout with it.

Its also called a knob of celeriac. Peeled it, cooked it , cut it in small bites and into the salad. Carrots and potatoes were cooked and cut in the salad, too. Like veggie salad.

They have what looks like a big deciduous tree. Seems I don’t see trees like that much in Arizona photos.
It is a fruitless Mulberry tree. They have been outlawed here. We had two in our back yard but they died.
Mulberry trees are banned or restricted in several Arizona cities (such as Phoenix, Tucson, and Apache Junction) primarily because male trees produce massive amounts of allergy-inducing pollen. They are considered noxious weeds due to their high pollen count, messy fruit, and invasive, rapid growth, which can crowd out native plants
Oh dear, do you experience allergy symptoms around that tree. Will she have to cut it down?
If its fruitless it doesb’t have fruit and seeds to spread, its a nice tree with pretty leaves good shade tree to have. I had a fruit one and boy its a messy tree to have but the berries are so good and the birds love them
