Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA

Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.

There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. The chicks will continue to grow in the nest for about three to four weeks before fledging. More information about the cams, set-up or to make a donation please visit alyssasnaturesanctuary.org.

Oh my, I am finding more and more that I don’t receive some posts in a timely manner. All of a sudden they show up in groups of 5 to 10. I’m so sorry if I appear to ignore anyone. I refresh often, but it doesn’t seem to make a difference. Anyway . . . Maybe it will stop happening sometime. 🙃😍

I’m sorry that is happening Karen. Try to completely close out the site, then boot it up again.

See if it happens worst when you reply to a post from last night.

Thanks Debbie. I do that. Maybe it’s something in the area like too many wave lengths or too many things going on in the same area or something. Who knows, maybe my husband is using his internet too much and mine gets lost. That would really be quite something else. 🤯 I just basically don’t want people to think I’m ignoring them when I don’t answer for 24 hours. Read your second post, I’ve been trying not to directly answer posts that are really old. I try to reference them somewhere later in the conversation. Probably my husband’s doing. Yeah,… Read more »

I don’t think you are ignoring anyone sweetie. And I think it can be harder sometimes on a phone than a computer.

Thank you. I hope nobody thinks that. I know it can look like that sometimes. I really prefer my computer, but I have to get a microphone. I don’t really think I can get involved with that right now with everything else going on. But that’s probably my best shot. Maybe on down the road. Then I can do more pictures and everything.

Do you use your microphone on the cell? I know typing is very hard for you. It would be nice to have a tablet. They are bigger to see on, and they have built in microphones like a cell phone.

You would enjoy a tablet. Do you and your husband share one laptop?

No, he doesn’t do computers. I’ve always been the computer brain. He just got involved in cell phone stuff.

So why don’t you just get a microphone and use the laptop? Maybe it is heavy, some are and not comfortable to hold. I know you would like a tablet.

I just haven’t wanted to mess around changing systems. I don’t know how to install a microphone, and I’m afraid I’ll mess it up and blow my computer up. 😅

I think you just stick it in the only place it will stick. But a tablet will be easier, lighter, and feel more like a cell phone.

Just talked to my Mom and Dads back at the nursing home, he’s had PT and even sat up by him self, my Mom has seen improvement in him-she’s not sure how long he had had the nercers, but its been knocked down and out of his system, and she thinks he’s stronger not fighting that virus😍 that makes sense because its a staff infection of the skin and blood-so maybe things are heading in the right direction finally😘

I’m sorry, Lynn. It scares me, too. The wind makes everything worse. Deeper snow, colder rain, etc. I’m afraid it’ll blow my air conditioners and plexiglass out of the windows.

It’s OKArdyth, there are plenty of days left in the year, I need to get the shovel out of the garage and put it up on the back porch so I can shovel out when I need to-Just had a big gust of wind I need also to move the trash cans up against the garage so they don’t blow over, just getting ready for the possible things are charged up
