Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA

Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.

There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. The chicks will continue to grow in the nest for about three to four weeks before fledging. More information about the cams, set-up or to make a donation please visit alyssasnaturesanctuary.org.

Good afternoon to everyone. 🌸 I hope today is going well for y’all. I just got up a little bit ago, I have been sleeping almost all day, as I was awake all night listening to trees hit houses in the neighborhood. The wind was so ferocious, and the effect was so loud, I couldn’t sleep. I think my neighbors and I are going to have a lot of work to do after the storm is over. But, right now, I won’t worry about it, I’m going to watch the Oscars. 🙂 Wishing each of you a pleasant evening! 🤗

Oh no Karen! That sounds horrible. Do you know if your house got any damage? We have the Oscars on too.

Hi Karen; the wind out here was pretty awful too. i use a Vornado table fan for white noise; it helps drown out Rick’s snoring in the next room. 🙄

I will go shovel to get the crap off the sidewalk, I won’t fall. Have to get the sleet off so people can walk and not let it freeze into ice

😁. They are going to have to stretch it out. I don’t think I’ve seen one close the top in like that.

Lily builds her nest different. You know I’m having trouble remembering all the names. Phoebe I think was first, before I came. I came here with Bella and that cam owner moved. Then it went to Idaho, what was her name? Then Olive, Jewel, and now Lily.
