Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA

Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.

There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. The chicks will continue to grow in the nest for about three to four weeks before fledging. More information about the cams, set-up or to make a donation please visit alyssasnaturesanctuary.org.

Good morning to you Ardy. I guess you will be putting blankets away. Are you buying more clothes for your trip? How did you get $20. Was it for prior purchases toward new purchases? So, time for the swamp cooler!

Well, I told Rick he could be jumping the gun because we can still have cold temps. This heat wave is early!!! But the furnace is OFF now and no turning back…………there is a problem with the cooler and they are coming out Thursday morning. I only put one blanket away. I will still use one on the couch and so will Rick and I have blankets on furniture to protect it from the cats. They have some kind of deal where Once you accumulate 1,000 points, a $10 Star Money reward will be issued. I spent $175. So today I bought another… Read more »

Thank you Debbie I already had the top that I bought a couple years ago and I also bought a blue one and a Aqua in the same design I took the pink one to the store to see if it would match. Well actually I am going to be too dressed up for where I’m going. I am going to be up north in Aitken for most of the time except two days when we go to Austin from the airport and spend the night and then she’s going to take me to Duluth to see the ships and… Read more »

That is funny Ardy! You see why I’ve told you about wearing jeans, tennis shoes, tee shirts in public. We are like Aiken. But, I noticed a man had on jeans at your church. You must have casual people there, but I do realize the jeans might not have been at a church service.

People in Tucson dress pretty casual. A lot of people that have moved here from back east that were used to going to fancy restaurants and dressing up complain about how casual it is here. Anyway yes some people wear jeans to church and men wear shorts to church.

I got my motorcycle helmet and easy slip on shoes handy last night just he case. Y’all be careful out there. Have a good one.

Good Morning Debbie, Back inside warming up, having my second cup of coffee, got sort of dug out, side walk is done and I made a path from the back steps out to the front of the house I use the back steps. Its where the trash cans are and bird feeders garage-its all location for me. Its still really blowing out there, think its still snowing but lots of blowing snow too

I know. Jo came in from doing the bird feeders with frozen fingers that hurt when they were thawing. Her gloves are completely worn out. It is too late to find them around here. I said see, Julie and people up north prepare for the cold. But she didn’t answer when I said why didn’t you use the gloves I have you? They are thinsulate. I think she thinks her thicker but worn out gloves are better. Maybe she will decide my like new gloves are better for tomorrow.
