Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA
Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.
There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. The chicks will continue to grow in the nest for about three to four weeks before fledging. More information about the cams, set-up or to make a donation please visit alyssasnaturesanctuary.org.

Julie nearly caused me to have a heart attack. She sent me this text and picture:
In police car
I didn’t know what was going on! Can you imagine what was going on in my brain? I thought all kinds of things. I was thinking, do I call her? She has to be in that car with the police. Then I get the second photo, is her house burning down? I’m debating what to do when she calls me! Good grief! You know I am under the care of a cardiologist! 🤣. Oh my!
I’m sorry honey I sent the picture after I had posted about what was going on, since I couldn’t post what was happening, I thought I would let you know so you could tell everyone
I’m just teasing you, yes you called right away. You were good.
I wondered where you were during her conversation/
I called Debbie but she didn’t answer the phone so I sent a picture
I was in the kitchen with headphones on.
Oh, I bet you freaked out, Debbie! I would have too! I’m glad I didn’t see the pictures at first.
I did just for a minute then Julie called.
I know. We all end up with that initial notification shock sometimes. I’m so glad things are ok.
1 inside the squad car 2 firetruck and firemen some real cuties😍
I can’t believe you had the foresight to carry a camera with you. And then to actually take a picture inside the police car. That’s funny. And yes, they are all cuties these days. 😆 What an experience! I heard Jade is fine. How is your house?
I had my phone with me, my house is fine-the Gas and Electric company is still working at the house across the street and its so cold out poor guys
Thank you, Julie, for answering. Duh! I’m still thinking pre cell phone days. I bet you are tired. I still worry about you being in the house all by yourself.
Yum.
I was so sad to wake up and hear that two of our beautiful giraffes at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo passed away. One on the 8th and one on the 13th. One from old age, and one from an unknown reason so far. The younger one was known as a pioneer in giraffe husbandry care due to his willingness to participate in new test procedures (remaining fully conscious). A really sad time for the zoo. 😥
Those poor animals to live and die in captivity it’s so very sad they died and one for unknown reasons😪
That is sad Karen♥♥
heart breaking.
Well this is weird I just had a fireman come to the front door, neighbor across the street hit a gas main at the door I could smell gas, any how they were evacuating me the wanted me to move 300 yards away from the house. I told have a car to evacuate, he said I could shelter in place and that I would be OK. But the Gas and electric company has to come and turn the gas off. I hope its not for the whole street? and if so when it would be turned back on? I’m going… Read more »
Oh no Julie! !!! I hope you’re okay. Are you sure you’ll be okay staying in the house?
They came back and evacuated me I had to walk a couple of blocks then got to sit in a cop car to stay warm, I had a adventure
what about Jade?
one time my sister and I had to load up the cats and take them somewhere…back when I had several
That must have been a handful, to say the least, Lynn.
SDhe was OK the gas smell was bad she was safer inside the house
Oh geesh….but good to be safe than sorry……what about Jade?
Jade was just in my house she was OK they were waiting for me at the front door I had to go with them
I had an adventure to.
Yep, that is quite an adventure. 🤗
It’s fine they stopped the leak I can’t smell gas anymore, man that stuff is stinky
YIKES!! Glad they evacuated you; much better to be safe than sorry. {{HUGS}} 🙏
Pam I did put my teeth in but no bra I was in a hurry😂 yes safe is good no exploding house for me💥
I’m going to crawl into bed with my heating pad, I’m chilled and my back is sore, time to eat and take a gummy, probably won’t be back tonight so see you in the morning. Have a good night😘
Good night Julie. Eat something good and hope the back feels better. 🥰♥️
G’night Julie, get warmed up and relax the back; you’ll feel like new woman 💝
You sleep good too, Julie. Try and calm down from your adventure. I know it had to be exciting. 😄
A woman went into labor last night and it was the peek of the blizzard, ambulance was called but they couldn’t get to the hospital because of the snow covered roads so a snow plow was sent to plow the way for the ambulance to get through, I love this story😍
It is a good one.
So cool. Yay humanity!
Hello…kind of a lazy day, I was tired…took a little nap..well, rested anyway…watched a couple things on my IPAD and worked on a few commands with the dogs…going to make a phone call in a bit and later watch AI and some of the Voice. It’s cold! the feels like temp is -1..windy on and off.
Sounds like a good day. Hi Lynn.
I’m about ready to kick back and relax Lynn the wind is still bad. I’m cold-chilled been outside a lot today, was going to go for a walk but the shoveling has me beat our temps are dropping too
It is good to have a restful day…it does sound cold.
OMGoodness, you must’ve been freezing today; poor you, poor pups 😔
This is what Spring is like in Denver even before Spring has actually sprung ↓↓
It’ll be 90 here 🌞
😂🤣😁🥰. That is hilarious!
Thats so funny Pam😂
Oh yeah, Pam. 🤗 I was up in my room last night, freezing my butt off with the wind going like crazy, and woke up today to sunny Palm Beach Florida. And having Pikes Peak at the back door doesn’t make it much better. 😆 Don’t get me wrong, I wouldn’t change it for the world, but . . . it does get annoying sometimes.
We really do have some of the most schizophrenic weather in the U.S.😄
Oh we do, Pam! I didn’t see this earlier, I’m sorry. This quote is very famous and very true. “Don’t like the weather in Colorado? Wait 10 minutes.” Also one shouldn’t really go anywhere without having several layers of clothing and blankets in the trunk, as well as provisions for a day or two.
