Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA
Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.
There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. My cousin in IA has some nice friends,,,,,she got flowers from a friends yard and one friend made a basket with goodies.

Good morning Karen. What a sweet tradition. I don’t know anyone in my region who has any kind of May Day tradition. I had heard about May Dad, but really didn’t know what it was. I surmised it was just a celebration of Spring, even tho spring officially starts in March.
Its also for Unions and for Spring, fertility, rebirth, the planting of crops

Good morning I had a nice walk yesterday morning. The saguaro flowers are getting ready to bloom. I am waiting to take a picture of them. I talked to my cousin in MN. yesterday and Ray in CA the day before. Gas is $6 a gallon in CA. It was nice catching up with them. I did my account for the IRS correctly because I got an email this morning saying our tax return will be in by May 5th…YAY!!! There is no way I am driving out in the desert or even on the roads where they grow on the mountain sides. I wouldnt be able to park anyway……nowhere safe to park

Far for me. The ones growing in town are in peoples yards mostly and the resorts. Otherwise they grow on the mountain sides along roads and the freeway and out in the desert.
