Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA
Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.
There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. Good Morning Bellas cloudy and cool 59 had cold front come through last night. Cooler temps for awhile now whole week of 70’s and that’s perfect for me😍coffee tastes so good this morning. I had a ant on the counter this morning it was a little one-have to figure out where it got in from and seal it off with some caulk. only one ant?? when I brought the mail in to the neighbors’, a cat had puked and there were about a million!! I sprayed with vinegar and wiped them up…at my house I use it to deter them also but only works a little, they come back…my DH uses ant traps and they work well and don’t come back.
I have never had any luck with ant traps, the traps are poiso and because Jade is a busy cat, I wouldn’t want her to get a hold of one. Using vinegar usually works so I will stick with using that. Its safer with the cat I have who gets into everything. Do you use stainless steel bowls for your pets? I just saw a video on using stainless steel bowls, many are not food grade and with leeching Mangenese can leech into water or food. thanks for that info…as for the ant traps, we don’t put them anywhere pets can get ahold of them…one was on top of a light in the bathroom, think it was a stick on kind..we had so many and hard to find where they come in here, it was bad..vinegar didn’t work
Jade would find them- trust me. I also just don’t do poison in the house-and not in the kitchen
I don’t either..where DH put them, the cats wouldn’t find or get to them
