Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA

Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.

There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. The chicks will continue to grow in the nest for about three to four weeks before fledging. More information about the cams, set-up or to make a donation please visit alyssasnaturesanctuary.org.

Como Zoo in MN has a traveling sculpture display of sealife made from plastics and trash collected on ocean beaches. Worth seeing! WashedAshore.org in Oregon makes them to raise awareness about how much plastic we use and leave behind. Reduce-reuse-recycle

Hi Ardy what a great thing to do. Clean up trash and make a thing of beauty. I looked at the site but the eagles is my favorite. Thanks for sharing.

So beautiful! We were talking on the phone to a friend when I posted it and I had not made it big yet. I saw the flowers but didn’t see that gorgeous butterfly. I didn’t remember how long the egg season lasts.

Good morning Bella Buds and happy Sunday. This will be a really hot day, but then the weather is a little cooler the rest of the week. We are 85 now which should be the high tomorrow. I wish all the best day possible.

I have a new neighbor who will be moving in next door the house has two small flats the new owner of the house has rented out the down stairs flat and she moved to the upper flat, any how the new owner asked if the new tenant could use my side of the drive way to un pack the moving truck I said of course😍 it just makes it so much easier to unload

That is a good thing to do Julie. We need to be good neighbors and help each other. I would do it even if it was a short time inconvenience, like maybe delaying going to a store or something. Who knows, you might make a new friend that will benefit both of you.

Good morning Sunshine. I saw that on Sunday Morning too. I know you would love that app too. Maybe that will encourage you to get a smart phone. There are other apps used like this, to identify plants and such, not necessarily new species. There is one that you point at a plant that is not looking good, and it tells you what to do to make it healthier.

that’s cool about the iNaturalist app but you can also use “google lens” which will identify any object it doesn’t have to be something in nature and you don’t have to download an app because it is right at the far-right end of your search bar on your cell phone

just so no one is confused, you don’t have to write google lens in your search bar I just did that so I could get a picture of it
