Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA
Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.
There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. The chicks will continue to grow in the nest for about three to four weeks before fledging. More information about the cams, set-up or to make a donation please visit alyssasnaturesanctuary.org.

Good afternoon. I had a very nice time at the memorial for Don Robinson. When I got there I discovered that our former pastor Jerry Hass was doing the memorial. He was our pastor back in the early 80s for 13 years and I used to cut his hair so I knew him quite well I was so excited to see him. His wife Donna was there I talked to her quite a bit before the service and then after the service I talked to both her and Jerry for quite some time and of course got their picture. The… Read more »
Sorry to hear about Don’s passing Ardyth😘 was he someone you knew from church? Wonderful that you got to see Jerry and his family and be there for Don’s💖
Yes he and wife were long time church members.
OK I often don’t remember names but do remember ones that are mentioned often and I didn’t recognize Don’s
No I never talked about him on chat.
Don
He by looks, looked like a nice man RIP Don🌺🐦 i’m giving him a blue bird💙
😘
You can see kindness in his eyes.
So Sue was Don’s wife? Is she deceased? What a lovely family. I’m glad you enjoyed the service, I bet there were a lot of memories and funny stories told. So nice to see your old pastor and his wife! Like a reunion. You have gone to that church a very long time.
Sue dies in 2017. I didnt know her as well because she sang in the choir and Don was always in the courtyard after church talking to everyone …like i do 😍 She was cremated and her ashes were put in a Niche and then i came home and decided to be cremated and in a Niche at our churches meditation gardens.
I hope you don’t move in until you are a 100.
😁me too
I’m sorry, Ardyth. I just saw that Sue was Don’s wife, not his daughter. I got confused. He looks like a sweet, caring man.
Ardyth, it makes my heart happy to know you got to visit with old friends while honoring your collective friend, Don. Sounds like there was a nice turnout for him & his family. 💗
Oh Pam, I was thrilled!!
What a special service that was, Ardyth. So nice that the former pastor was able to be there. And the sweet story Don’s son-in-law shared about Don’s daughter, with the bird coming to tell him it was time. I bet it was all quite emotional for you, even though you enjoyed it. 😘 He is probably in Heaven already. 🙏
Hi Karen…….he passed in Feb. I think it was delayed since one of his daughters was diagnosed with cancer and was going thru chemo/radiation.
The BIL was happy to see so many people came.
Thanks, Ardyth. That is nice that so many came to comfort him.
They asked him to do the service.
That was really special💕
Hello…we found a caregiver to stay from 9-10:30 last night so we went to the Eagles tribute band concert…this was the original tribute band and they were so good..I know someone who is a good musician who said musically, they were great. There were a few sprinkles at times and light rain but not bad. Today we went to farmer’s market, post office, monument place, and I got some pasta salad at the grocery deli. I’m tired, might take a little nap before the music tonight…DH had to be at his dad’s by 1, will be there all day/night and… Read more »
Hi Lynn, bet you and your husband really enjoyed the concert and this morning too. Bummer he has to stay so long at his Dad’s. Does he get bored there for so long. I know I would. Enjoy tonight’s music. Mom going too?
he looks at his phone and watches tv and probably thinks of all the things he should be getting done like patching up the roof and mowing and a million other things
yes, she’s going
Great you got to hear the Eagles music😍 wonderful out doors music😘 and music tonight too fantastic, who are you hearing tonight?
oldies band tonight
That wasnt very long, an hour and a half to get there and see a concert was it? Or was it an outside concert so it didnt matter.
the concert was two hours…a caregiver was leaving at 9 but the concert went until 10 so I asked and found one, surprisingly
That was great!
Got up late — UGH, hate when i do that. Fed/watered the clowder. Put together 2 weeks worth of vitamin/meds boxes. Started a load of laundry, Loaded the trunk with all the recyclables; then went to recycle only to find the hall had already been converted to a Bingo Parlor for the Ark-Valley Fair that starts Weds. 🎪✨🎢🎡🎢 Had to unload said trunk in order to fit Sam/s/Kroger orders when i go to Pueblo on Tues. 🙄 By this time it’s after 10a and i still haven’t had a sip, let alone a full cup, of coffee and breakfast didn’t… Read more »
Oh dear Pam bummer you went to all that trouble to recycle and it wasn’t available. They should have informed the public somehow. Either signs posted the last time you went, some kind of local news. Do you have local radio news for your actual town. We do have a radio station here and in Columbia and a small newspaper. The newspaper used to not be too bad until a guy in Glasgow bought several county papers. I hope Chuck has good news when he gets home. Will you be able to see Rick Tuesday? Please share updates when you… Read more »
Hey Pam😍 funny they didn’t have something for people bringing their recycles to be recycled set up there or another place where things could be dropped off, I’m sure your not the only one to have to do the same as you😘 you had a delish breakfast😋 you have been busy its time to relax now😃
Pam, I can’t do anything until after my first cup!
Sorry to hear the recycle place wasnt open today….all that work for nothing.
How is Rick today?
Going to make something to eat and get moving alittle I’m chillaxing right now
You are observing an official holiday.
