Just wanted to let you know I got 6 tiny metal staples out late this afternoon.. I now have an open sore the size of a quarter, she showed DH how much salve on it 2x a day,, I can either keep it uncovered or have 4×4 gauze covering it, .. it is to,stay moist all the time. I go back in 2 weeks to be checked.. other great news I don’t need to go back to wound care.. I still have a small sore but I so should be able to hande

I got a phone call and had to get off would not let me edit.. so this a continuation…lol anyway my sore I can handle on my own, if I see a difference to just go into wound and I don’t need an appt.. no more wrap on my leg.. Donna is coming to wash my hair and set it tomorrow, I have to use baby shampoo.. .can have light water on the sore.. she can wash the blood out, which I can’t see … Head is painful tonight..wasn’t fun when she took the staples out…hopefully I can sleep tonight…… Read more »

Gwen!!! Congratulations on graduation from scheduled wound care. Pulling those staples wasn’t fun; nice Donna’s coming to wash your hair. Hope your head heals better than your ankle did 🙏

UPDATE:
Watching the news and it’s starting to look better for us; not so great for Colo Spgs air quality. Fire’s still not contained, but the wind isn’t quite so gusty.

Laundry done. Another 100-degree day 🔥 We’re still here, in our house; fire still raging. Up to 49,000 acres with no containment. Alaska sent their Command Team; Firefighters pouring into the city from all over the country. A contingent of World Central Kitchen has also arrived; the ones not in Venezuela. “Fire Weather Warning” still up for our area. I cannot thank you enough for all the prayers and good thoughts for our safety. Rick still unaware 🙄

This fire is really getting serious. Keeping all of you in my prayers. 🙏
Bless all the volunteers that help…..World Central Kitchen and the Command Team from Alaska.
How close is the fire to you? Can you smell the smoke?
Take care Pam…….(((hugs))) I won’t complain about the heat dome.

Hi Tea, we can smell it sometimes, depends on the wind.

Fires create winds…keep praying it will change direction.. and higher humidity is good to get some kind of containment.. would not say anything to Rick. but not at last minute…, I have seen how fast it goes…

Thanks Gwen, we’ll have plenty of time; both Chuck and I are keeping a close eye on it. It has quite a ways to go to get to us. We may not be able to breathe … 😄

Hi Chris, if it could be contained, even just a little, humidity is supposed to start rising; that will help.
Via the highway, Beulah’s about 75 miles west of me; less as the crow flies. There’s a LOT of farmland between us, so we should be okay as long as the wind doesn’t go nuts & start jumping over things 🙄

Good morning…my sister left..I remember going to a restaurant with our friend, a cafe, ice cream with our mom, can’t remember what else..when I was petsitting she came over at night, played with the dogs, hung out. Not sure what I’ll be doing today.

Good morning 💛 Temperature 86° 8:30 am……high temperature 103°.😮 So many events in nearby Philadelphia for the 4th of July. Some parades have been cancelled. Very dangerous for anyone to be out in this extreme heat over the weekend. But, I guess the show will go on. World Cup players are playing in this heat too. US won last night and will advance to Round 16. ( A red card was given to US player last night and he left the field immediately.) Happy for the US team Egg salad for lunch today. Healthy hoagies (sub sandwiches) for dinner. (Turkey,… Read more »

I don’t follow any sports so I had to look up what “red card” meant, do you know what he did to deserve that? your sandwich sounds yummy, hope the heatwave passes soon

My back is better this morning and DH is not dizzy. Thanks to all who were concerned. This morning our coffee and book study was held via FaceBook Messenger video chat. Our friend whose house we usually meet at is still sick, now on antibiotics, still has a fever, and has no sense of smell or taste. So we decided to try meeting this way. It worked and even the least tech savvy of us was able to manage it. Then I worked on a business tax return I have been procrastinating about. The new bookkeeper there has done a… Read more »
