Good morning….Good afternoon or Good evening. A rather cloudy day today with heavy rain on and off. Some local flooding is expected with gusty winds. High temperature 83°. Today is National Sugar Cookie Day: Celebrates the classic buttery, lightly sweetened cookie introduced by Lutheran German settlers in Pennsylvania in the 1700s. It is a day for baking, decorating, and enjoying sugar cookies  Well, I won’t be baking or eating any sugar cookies today, but I did make them for my children. Not the kind with thick icing on top that you see today….just a simple thin sugar cookie. Sprinkle a… Read more »

My dad was a real cookie lover. After the war when metal was short was when they got married and he had a small sheet of metal made at the machine shop with the end turned up slightly so she could make him cookies. He was an aeronautical engineer, so there was a machine shop at his place of work.

This morning after sleeping with CPAP (which has air filter) I felt so much better, which confirmed my thought that the sneezing was allergies. A sneeze or two today, but that’s it, and that was always after exposure to outside air. DH took DBIL & DSIL to the airport at 4:30 am. We went and brought the dogs over about 9 am. Had our coffee and book study this morning. I stayed home while the rest met and I was on Facebook video call. I had to leave for PT early, so this gave me more time with them. PT was… Read more »

Glad you got to Costco. Sounds like you really need to get all your wounds checked out. Healing is harder as we get older. Hope the eye appt goes well, and you can go back to DMV and get that all taken care of.

Sorry your not healing well with ankle area and head area. Good idea to schedule appointment with wound care to have both checked out.
🙏Prayers continue for good healing Gwen ♥ Take care and keep cool.
Yes, expensive car repair, but we have no car payments….so it equals out.

Same ol’ 100 degree days; so glad the thermostat is up and working properly; been so hot; it’s struggling to keep up. It’s set at 75, & may have to increase the setting. Aspen Acres Fire (the one i thought might head this way) is at 96K acres, with 15% containment; the 4 fires going right now total 196K or 296 square miles, almost 2x the size of Denver 💔 Officials are saying the Aspen Acres may not be completely out until a heavy blanket of snow arrives 😢 We got wind, rain and hail about 30 mins ago; it… Read more »

The Aspen wildfire is a big one. Wow...they say it won’t be out until a heavy blanket of snow….
Prayers you will all be safe and the fire won’t come your way. 🙏 Be safe Pam ♥
Why no NBC? I guess your TV provider did not renew contract with NBC. Some others have lost ABC due to contract renewals.

Hello there……😘 A partly cloudy day here with a high temperature 85° Perfect summer weather. I have been getting so many spam calls from Medicare providers. They use false phone numbers. I just pick up the phone and hang up. I don’t want the answering machine to get filled up and too many calls to block….they just use another number.😠 We are on the “do not call” list….what a joke. All our technology and spam calls still keep coming. Sorry, end of rant. Our car did not pass PA inspection….car is now in the repair shop for new front struts… Read more »

My friend supposedly had her stitches out without general anesthesia (which is great) and came home today. I haven’t heard for sure though. I’ll check in the morning. Had dentist appt in the morning, then doctor appt in afternoon, and blood draw. They added another BP drug since it still isn’t low enough. Then paid bills. I had a number of sneezing fits today – I think it is allergies, but took extra meds and don’t know if it helped. Could be because we sat outside a long time last night and DH had window open last night. He has… Read more »

So we tend to have humidity winter, spring, and fall, but summer is our dry season, so it is not a humid heat when it comes. Summer is our best season – it is sunny and dry. Do you remember the song – “the bluest skies you’ve ever seen are in Seattle”? – that is speaking of our summer. I wish it stayed a bit hotter longer, but I am in the minority here.
