Another little update on Rick:
The medical staff at Parkview have assigned him a PT and an OT; the schedule hasn’t been set but at least we all know who they are.
He’s still pretty confused, but was able to get to the bathroom using the walker; even remembered what he what he went in there for 😉 And he knew exactly what meds he is supposed to take and how many; both habits of a lifetime.

Good afternoon, today is my last day to go to the DMV to read the vision test,, I still don’t have my new glasses, so will us my currant one, if I can’t read them will get another extension, I don’t want my photo taken as I look like an alien with gauze on top of my head…so hopefully they will use my photo they took a few months ago.Just want it over with… I will be going shortly as no appt (very hard to get… dates are way out but if I wait till later as a walk in… Read more »

Before we leave for the hospital; Rick’s holding his own; the hospital notified his doctor here in Rocky that it was a stroke. We’ll find out what’s what and where his rehab will be. Hope it’s someplace nearer than Pueblo 🙄

Hello friends 💙 A mix of clouds and sun today. Our high will be 86°. Still kind of humid with all the rain we have had from storms. Looks the the rest of the week will stay in the mid 80’s. Much better than the heat waves we have had. Feeling better today. 👍 Asked DH to find the long extension tube for our sweeper. It is for cleaning under refrigerator. Dust can make your refrigerator less efficient. Seems ours has been running longer. (hard to catch it….lol) Grilled chicken strips with honey mustard dip for dinner. I will make… Read more »

I am having a sleepless night, slept for 3 hours and woke up. Had a long day yesterday , took DH to VA in La Jolla for his eyes,,,He had blood in the one eye they did laser surgery on 2 months ago when he was blind in the eye… today Dr said it about all gone, so he goes back once a month the next 3 months to be checked again,,,Had nice cool weather there as it is near the ocean, when I got inland coming home, you could really feel the heat.. Oh wow! So sorry. 😢 Glad you did get to see him just last week.💗 So sudden. It can be a difficult thing about services. Have actually had some discussions with friends recently about this issue. They usually allow survivors to grieve – in the US that is the process. It can be hard when there is nothing. But lots of people don’t want to cost their relatives anything. It seems to be the the on going thing of not having services…..wow , someone wanting to sue the church.. for having a service…around here it seems people now have cerebration of life now . We specifed no services also…I can’t see putting people though the grief again…. Just my thought.
just my opinion….to me, it’s for the family..and friends…I’ve heard so many say they wish there was a service, it would help them…the family gets comfort and support, they share memories…just part of the process…I’ve never heard a family say they don’t want one, so I just feel it’s up to them, and I feel it helps people.
Same with us Gwen. Exactly our thoughts.
sometimes when the person doesn’t want a service, the family still does something..like say a few words at the burial, have a meal together and share memories, things like that…different people and familes do different things, I guess
Worked on paying bills today and filed a tax return that I received the signature form for. Also sent out question and made a few online purchases. Refilled bird and squirrel feeders. I had my follow up with my PCP and she agreed that my blood pressure is in a good placer so I don’t need to go back for 6 months. Yay! The last few days the readings had been pretty good.
