So after we got all the septic stuff set up for tomorrow, we went on with out day. DBIL & DSIL brought the dogs over. But when they left, Ggoma started howling and would not stop. So after a while I let her out and she ran over to the ADU and lay down where DSIL’s car usually is. I went and got her and she willingly came back, and was calm after that. I sent DSIL a text and a photo. We decided that maybe it worked better for them to leave the dogs at the ADU and then… Read more »

Poor Ggoma missing her mom and dad. 😢and howling to let you know. Good you took a picture so they will understand to leave without bringing the dogs over. The picture sounds so sweet and sad at the same time. Enjoy your time with the dogs.♥♥

Chuck’s home; he got Rick a hamburger from the hospital deli, 5 candy bars. & a fruit bowl. He sure was happy to see that food. Rick’s having to use his left hand to raise his right hand & naturally, he’s angry about it — but it’s only been 3 days. I know OT/PT will go a long way towards him getting some of the use back; as Tea said, it probably won’t be until next week. He chatted on the phone with Kitty for about 3 mins. Holding pattern til PT/OT starts. 😟

Yep, that food probably tasted really good! Glad he talked to Kitty. Hopefully the movements will come back. It should motivate him to keep with the PT when it starts.

OMGoodness, i’m watching people on Jimmy Kimmel in LA drink water poured from the hose into a cup that said EREWHON, a brand of water which grocery stores are charging $12 per 12 oz cup. Not one of those folks could tell the difference. It was crazy. 😄

What! I saw that Aldi had Ice cubes for sale – 4 cubes for $5.

I just looked it up…..true
Aldi is selling four large, crystal-clear ice cubes for $4.99 in some stores, making them part of its “Aldi Finds” promotions These are not the cloudy cubes you get from a standard freezer — they’re about 1.8 inches across and made from reverse osmosis (RO) purified water to produce a clear, slow-melting product

Good afternoon, not much energy today.. another day of 100 will be like this through Monday,, humidity is around 50%, fires popping up everywhere. Fire in Ramona ( Mtn area) now 95 %contained.. lost a couple homes…😢 Lots of people heading to the coast from the heat.. Did a load of wash this morning before our AC clicked on…. The heat is affecting my asthma last couple days.. harder to breathe… Cleaned the litter box and the birds seem to have disappeared…. Lacking water , tonight I am going to. Chill the birds seem bath, bees had taken over it,… Read more »

Would love rain, but there won’t be any rain anytime soon, The air is full of smoke ashes and you
breathe theming when outside…it doesn’t look like it but the particles are in it……

Hello…it was a this and that day…a load of laundry, pulled some weeds, watered flowers, washed some dishes, can’t remember what else..also I sat on the porch, reading and writing..the high was 77 today, very nice..just walked the dogs..waiting for DH to come home, not sure if we’re going anywhere or what…I’m sure Bane will want to play in the sprinkler even though it’s not real hot.

Been busy. Chuck left around 8.30a for Pueblo; i gave him money to get some chocolate for Rick; he likes choc better than i do 🙄 That should help perk him up. He’s going to help him use the phone, if Rick feels up to it. Both Kitty and Mary have been calling but he doesn’t answer. His Advocate gave Chuck her personal cell# so we don’t have to go thru the switchboard to find her. 😘 It’s so weird having the kitchen to myself; i cooked shrimp, made Ranch dressing – i like to dip shrimp in it. 😋… Read more »

Hope Rick can get connected with folks on the phone. Glad the Advocate gave him a direct phone line. I had that when my friend was in the hospital. It makes a big difference. She wasn’t on call on weekends, but it still helped.

Update from our house: DH and DBIL were out early investigating the situation. It turns out that there is a tank by the ADU (lid grown over so we didn’t know) that houses a pump to pump the sewage from the ADU to the main sewage tank by the main house. The ADU is too far from the main area (and slightly uphill) so it would not flow that far on its own. Apparently the electricity to that pump has been off! For 3 years we didn’t even know the tank was there or what the switch was for. They… Read more »

YIKES!!! The previous owners didn’t tell you?? That really vacuums!! At least it’s no longer critical; as in repairing it instantly.

It wasn’t mentioned specifically, but maybe we should have known? We have never had an ADU before, so it didn’t occur to us. I saw the electric box on the back of the ADU and wondered what it was, but that was it. I’ve never worried about (been in charge of)  that sort of thing before, so why would I care?
