Good Morning! Cloudy and 61 going up to a record high of 83 with a stray shower or thunderstorm possible this afternoon. I did some grocery shopping yesterday but not much else until Craig got home from work. He finally had time to plant some of what we bought a couple of weeks ago at Creekside Nursery. I helped by doing some weeding near the area where he was planting the new Heucheras and Hellebores in the front flower bed. I hope to do more weeding today. Craig won’t have time to plant anything else today because he has to… Read more »

Hi Kathy, Our pollen count today is very High. I am taking a daily Loratadine allergy pill and it is helping me a lot. The pressure in my sinuses is much better. I hope you feel better soon.. 💜 It is so hard to not want to be outside with the nice weather now but then the allergies. That was nice Craig got to work outside some. 🙂 It was good you relaxed after doing your grocery shopping yesterday. I took a nap yesterday around 1pm I felt tired and laid on the couch and woke at 2pm. I rarely… Read more »

Before reading your comment Craig and I communicated about the need for Loratadine (mainly for Craig but I might try some as well to see if it might stop the awful post nasal drip I have been dealing with). I ordered some from Amazon (much better price than the drugstore) so it should be delivered early tomorrow morning.

Good morning, Yesterday cleared off and was a nice day, it is 59 going up to 80. Still unseasonably warm but tomorrow brings in a storm with a cold front and will be back to cooler temperatures. Joe and Lynn were back from a couple weeks camping in Florida, they had a really good time. She loves camping. 😊 In the evening walk the Maine couple were on their porch and invited us over for a chat on their porch. They were just getting settled in yesterday, they had been staying with a friend while they had a painter painting… Read more »

Hi Jenn
How nice that you got to chat a bit with the your new neighbors from Maine 😊 The soft gray paint they chose sounds nice.

Yes, it was very nice to chat with neighbors. Joe a good friend now and I really like Lynn, she is very quiet but she comes out and sits with us and her gentle presence is so nice and calming. Donna and Skip are very nice, she has a strong New York accent, she was from New York City. They have lived in Old Orchard Beach in Maine for some years now.

Good morning Yesterday i took all the things i have displayed on top of the kitchen cupboards down and washed them with 409, the dust was thick after a year!!!! Then i roll out a roll of paper towels on the top so all I have to do next time is replace it. I learned early it was almost impossible to get the grimy dust off, especially being so high up. I also cleaned on top of the fridge. It started out w/o a cloud in the sky and then changed….we had a light rain with lots of thunder and… Read more »

Hi Ardy,
Gosh it is really too bad you won’t be seeing much sun…lol Sunny Arizona, FL is called the Sunshine State but I think you are more so!
What kind of pain patch did you use?

Hi Ardy
That’s very clever covering the top of the kitchen cabinets with paper towels to more easily get rid of the dust the next time. I do something similar inside my kitchen cabinets.

No one can see that I rolled paper towels across the top so it makes that part of cleaning up there breeze.

I also started cutting a plastic tablecloth to fit on top of the fridge too and do the same thing. Our kitchen because of the dust here and combination of cooking/grease in the kitchen makes it harder to clean the top of the fridge and cupboards when you dont keep up with it weekly

Kathy S
March 10, 2026 9:21 am

One time I covered the top of our fridge with plastic wrap. It worked but made it more difficult to get items we use tgat are stored on top of the fridge. I like your idea of customizing a plastic or vinyl tablecloth to cover the top of the fridge. Do you secure it in place with tape?

Ardyth ~ Tucson

This is a cheap tablecloth from the Dollar store and it is hard to place the things on top. I am going to look for a better one somewhere else. No I didnt use tape

Kathy S
March 10, 2026 10:10 am

Amazon has some square heavy duty waterproof vinyl tablecloths with flannel backing. They cost more than the plastic ones from the Dollar Store but I’m thinking items could be more easily placed on top. The Walrus one in the image is $13.90 and is available in other colors and patterns. If I decide to try one of these for the top of our fridge I might(?) secure it in place with some clear packing tape.

Good morning. Beryl, Jenn, Ardyth, Kathy, Lynn, Pam. A cloudy and windy day today with the occasional sunshine a high of 53F. Rain later this evening with increased wind speeds gusting to 25mph. Will be off at 11o’clock to do the weekly shopping plus of course the Pretzel. My sciatica really playing up lately shooting pain down my legs but I can sit without pain at least. Legs are a bit easier a the day goes on. Tried lot of different gadgets but none seem to work more than a few hours and back comes the pain. Growing old does… Read more »

Have you seen a Dr about your sciatica? I am guessing it starts from back pain?

Waste of time trying to see a doctor because all they do for Sciatica is give you pain killers and I would not take them.😀😘

Good morning Ice,
I am so sorry for the shooting pain you are having. At least you have relief when sitting. Does it hurt when your laying in bed?
Pain is awful it sure sounds like Sciatica pain. I wish you had a doctor you could call and go to an office visit and get help for it.
So different here we have doctor visits for medical help.
I hope you did get the Pretzel and I hope it sunny while you were out and about.😊

No way Jenn would a doctor make a house visit unless like Beryl you can’t leave the house.

We do not have doctors that make house calls for many years now but we can go to their office and get checked over and
have tests ordered if need be. I think you only see a nurse for B/P checks and blood tests?

sorry about that, Ice..I mentioned a chiro before because that is what helped and cured me…no meds or surgery, it actually cures the problem instead of a “bandaid” like meds. Up to you of course, but my whole family goes for different reasons (my DB had severe dizziness and nausea, I couldn’t walk because of the pain, etc..our problems go on and on, lol)…anyway it truly works and it will get better and better each time, also you will be given exercises to do maybe and of course, you have to ice. Got up to a lovely 81 degrees today. 🌞 Made the mistake of starting a new book last night; coupled with the time-change, didn’t get to sleep til’ almost 3am 🙄 And up at 7.30a. UGH. However, I console myself with no matter how much I struggle with the time change; I did Spring forward, unlike some friends who turned their clocks BACK! Talk about confusing 😂 Thank goodness for Sunday TV, it’s probably how they realized what they did. 😄
This is how i felt pretty much all day ↓↓

Good morning,

My body is not ready to adjust to the time change. I will have to take it gradually. Not so lucky for those who have to get up and go to work, which I did have to do many years.
It seems crazy to do this twice a year to people.😯
Seeing the leaves really coming out on the trees now, so little but soon they will be big.

It was not as hot yesterday afternoon so I did sit out and read a magazine and crochet a bit.
