I have seen these in Maine before Beryl. They are in New England.

Formerly known as the northern goshawk, the American goshawk is the largest accipiter species in the world and breeds in boreal and temperate forests throughout North America, including New England, New York, Pennsylvania, the Great Lakes states, the mountain west, Canada, and Alaska

Good Morning! Sunny and 46 going up to 69. The low last night got down to the upper 30s and we had a light frost this morning. Tonight we might be under another frost advisory.
Yesterday I ordered 2 hanging baskets from our local Lowe’s for in-store pickup. My order wasn’t ready until late in the day so I decided to wait until this morning to pick them up. I’ll be leaving shortly after I post this comment. After Lowe’s I plan to do some grocery shopping.

Hi Kathy,
We have had a couple chilly mornings too, we had strong wind yesterday that made the ‘real feel’ much colder.
I hope we can see your hanging baskets. 🙂

Good morning, There were 3 large deer in our backyard as I stepped out into the sunroom with Danny. He barked and barked and they just stare and freeze, I was saying run, run so Danny could get outside. He chases them briefly if he sees them in the woods but never gets too close or continues to run. They have a loud hissing sound when one gives the alert, which one did, then they jumped and ran. After we wlaked around the house Danny came in and drank water then threw up on the rug. Mostly just water it… Read more »

Yes, we will for sure. We have apple trees at the upper end of the driveway and they were munching on them when we left last September.😃

Good Morning
I took my usual walk yesterday….Gave myself a pedi and changed the polish on my toes. I thought the new polish was too bright for me…not my color. So I put the new bluish polish on. Rick made meatloaf and cooked carrots from the garden.
Pam was talking about shoe horns yesterday so I got out dad’s memory box because i knew i had saved his. It was nice to look through the box of his things again.

Hi Ardy,
It is fun to reminisce sometimes. I was packing up my journals and things I have kept over the years. I took this picture to share with my sisters on our FB page. It is postcards my brother sent me in the 60’s when he was in the Navy and traveled all around the world.

Back of the cards where they were from. The smaller one with the girl in the red dress is all embroidered and still looks like new. They do not make cards like that anymore.

Hi Ardy
I think I have the long-handled shoe horn that my mother used but I don’t remember where I put it. It’s probably in one of our closets.

Good morning, lovely day yesterday had to strip down while cutting the grass so good to be able to able to just wear a little top and not a heavy jumper. Looking out the garden looks much better but I did find it hard work as I can’t breath well and have to keep taking a break which annoys me somewhat ! I can’t fix my leaf sucker and I so want to go out and get rid of the leaves while its dry ! I am enjoying reruns of the Waltons and I could watch them forever 2 hours… Read more »

Hi Beryl
I never watched the Waltons but I do watch Little house on the Prairie.
I do wish you could walk around your neighborhood. Is it possible that you could try, take baby steps every day?
I am sure it isnt…..

Hi Ardy, I did watch Little house on the Prairie but after reading what an awful person Michael Landon was I couldn’t bear to look at him but I do watch it now and then and try not to look at him, lol !

Hi Beryl,
Adorable picture. 🥰
Too bad you cannot get the leaf sucker going but mowing over them and mulching them is good.
Wish you lived on one of houses on Hog Island, you could mosey about and not be disturbed. All the camp people are in one location not the whole Island I think.

I always loved the Walton’s it usually was a tear jerker though.

Good morning.
Beryl, Jenn, Ardyth, Kathy, Lynn Pam.
A cloudy day today with some sunshine at times 20F cooler than yesterday.
Temp reached 74F yesterday, so that was it for a few weeks now.lol.
Grass on the Green is growing at a fast rate now will soon need the Council mowers in action.
They do cut around the clumps of Daffodils so they die back gradually and build up their strength for next year.
I could do to being a Daffodil.lol.
Coffee and sticks time now see you all later. 😀 😘

Howdy-do Lovely Early Bird People 🐦 Not much to report; other than it got to a sunny 81 today  🌞  Decided to start wearing sandals with a back strap; gives me more of a feeling of security than the no-back Birkenstocks. Have had to use a shoehorn to keep the strap from twisting when trying to put them on. Anyway, the shoehorn is a heavy-duty metal engraved with “The Fontius Shoe Co” — Fontius was a men’s shoe store that closed its Downtown Denver store in 1988; not sure if this horn belonged to Dad or Grampa  🤔… Read more »

Hi Pam,
My sis Barb worked at a shoe store in high school. She was saying the other day how she can’t believe she wore high heals climbing the little ladders up to get the shoe boxes. She wore heals for years, loved them.
