While Sis/Kitty was at the hospital yesterday, Rick said he was actually hungry. When i talked to his nurse today, he said Rick was much calmer and more focused than he has been the last couple days. 🤗 Probably because they put him back on the tried and true meds for his schizophrenia. 😏 The med-mishap isn’t on the ICU; their focus is the stroke and monitoring the brain bleed; schizophrenia is not really in their bailiwick. Rehab had the correct med info; they just neglected to notify the ICU. They really must work on their communication skills. 😠 Landon… Read more »

Good late morning…last night we went to the farm store and pet supply store..got pet stuff and coffee..also ate at Cracker Barrel..I got breakfast and had leftovers for today. It rained during the night and most of the morning..we have a break now but more tonight and tomorrow. I’ll do a couple small jobs today, not much.

Hi Lynn,
I used to love the Cracker Barrel breakfast sampler but they stopped it awhile back. A blueberry muffin with Maine blueberries, a yogurt with fruit, oatmeal and something else. It was a big breakfast I would bring the muffin to eat later.

Good Morning! Tropical humidity plus another Heat Advisory is expected again today. At 9:25 AM it’s sunny, humid and 78 (feels like 84) going up to 97 (heat index 105 to 108) 🥵🥵 So very thankful for our efficient central AC and I pray it remains in good working order. I usually like to get up no later than 6:00 AM but I must have needed extra rest because I didn’t wake up for the day until almost 7:30 this morning. Yesterday went well at my Cornea Specialist appointment. The cataract developing in my right is not quite ready for… Read more »

Hi Kathy, You must have needed that extra sleep. I almost feel guilty if I sleep past 7ish I was so used to getting up at 5:30 all my working years and back when I had my babies I was always up when they woke and Amber was always a very early riser. 😉 Good news on your eyes, it sounds like you have a very good caring eye doctor.💜 Puff Boy looking cute as ever. I found out the 2 juvies at my feeder are male and female. The boy is getting very red on his neck. It started… Read more »

Good morning I dont have much news. Yesterday I gave myself a pedi and polished my toes after I walked. I went through ALL the cards that were sent to me after mom died, intending to toss them after cutting the fronts off and using them for making lists but all i did was throw the envelopes away and get some stamps for my sisters collection. Do you save stuff like I do?

Jenn

Hi Ardy,
I do not save cards really, I have saved a few very special ones but ended up after a time throwing them out. They tend to sit in boxes not looked at. I have some post cards from my brother who traveled around the world in the Navy and sent them from many places. Even pictures the kids do not want they say ‘oh keep them mom’. They will be thrown out when I am gone I’m sure.

That is the problem, they just sit in boxes not being looked at…..I took the first step….

I save lots of them, yes…some Christmas cards that I don’t want to keep, I cut off the front, make a little hole in them, put a ribbon through the hole, and use as gift tags..I also use a special scissors to cut around the card to make it prettier, like scalloped I think you call it. .

Our church used to make cards, they would cut the fronts of cards in the scalloped design and glue them to blank paper to make cards to sell.
Here is an example of the front/inside and the back

I used to save cards that were sent to me but not anymore. I will enjoy my birthday cards for up to a month after my birthday but then I toss them out.

That is a good idea…..I just have to make myself😏 get past the sentimental card thing because they sit in boxes never to be looked at again……

Good morning, Very cool this morning 57 going up to 76. I had to put on my robe, which I haven’t needed lately. Feels good though, especially knowing how hot it is in most places I am grateful. We took a little country ride yesterday, we wanted to go to a farm stand and on the way we went to Union and rode down the dirt road that goes to Lermond’s Pond. That was where the camp my dad rented every August for us to stay at, right on the lake. It looks very different now from when we went… Read more »

Hi Jenn
Yes seems so many things change. A while back I googled the resorts where we stayed every year growing up when we went fishing and they were either gone or looked so different.
Sounds like you picked up some goodies..the pie sounds really good.
Have a nice time with Barb.

It does seem sad that places look nothing like they used to but that is especially in America I think. Look at pictures of England and the cobble roads and big brick buildings standing so many years. Ice would know more about that than I but I am going by pictures.

Hi Jenn
It’s sad how the camp from your childhood has changed so much. So many places my family used to visit look totally different now.
Enjoy your time with sis Barb today 💖

Good morning. Beryl, Jenn, Ardyth, Kathy, Lynn, Pam. It was a humdinger of a night last night, the hottest one so far but cooling down today to just 85F forecast. Had two legs hanging out last night.lol. Up at 5-00 this morning and it is a bit cloudy but temp 66F and warming up from here. My weather App is showing some promise for next week. From Tuesday onwards for the rest of that week there is a 40 to 50% chance of some cooling showers if we are lucky.🙄. The water butts re now empty so using mains water… Read more »

Good morning Ice,
Oh no you had 2 legs out last night, it is getting bad! 😀 I know it isn’t funny at all, I do hope the promise of cooler days ahead is accurate.
That is good they are keeping a good eye on Glenda’s sodium and doing the blood work. Sis Barb has to keep hers monitored, it tends to be low and she does not want to get where she was awhile back landing in the hospital.

Hi Jenn.
Only one leg tonight we have cooled from 95F yesterday to just 85F today.
But we will be back next week into the 70F range, won’t that be lovely.
That is where Glenda ended up the first time must avoid that again.😘

Good morning Ice
We too have had some cooler days, just under 100° but will be 100+ next week.
There were a couple swift water rescues here from all the rain …..some people bike riding in Sabino canyon tried to ride a across an bridge and didnt make it across….people around jumped in to save this woman. I posted the video on FB
