I worry about the roads here too, in Maine the sand trucks are out as soon as the storms start but when we had a foot of snow here last winter there were no plows on the roads or sand/salt being put on the roads. That makes for terribly dangerous driving. We won’t have to go out for awhile but many will have to.
Charlotte does have some snow plows. However, they only focus on main roads and not neighborhoods. We would not be able to safely navigate out of our neighborhood to the main road until warmer temps melt enough of the predicted ice.
That makes it very hard,for most people do live on the main roads.😌 I just watched our local weather channel, they are saying heavy snowfall for N. Carolina and ice storm for us. Are you getting the same information?
I’m getting news that says ice for Charlotte and places south of us but snow for areas north of Charlotte.

guess DS doesn’t have to deal with the Maine weather this year..he’s in AZ until or through May.
Good Morning! Clear skies and 22 (feels like 18) going up to 51. I am very concerned (terrified to be honest) about the forecast for this coming weekend. The winter storm event could potentially be the worst one I have ever experienced in the 66 of my 72 years I have lived in Charlotte. Only 28 degrees out, the cold is here to stay for awhile still.
Gabe texted me last night concerned about the ice storm supposedly coming our way this weekend. I do dread the storm they say we will be getting.🙄
I enjoyed knitting and sewing yesterday. I took apart a big tote bag I had made to small it down to a pocketbook size.
Made stuffed shells they were delicious.😘

I hope you guys don’t get much ice but it sounds like we could get a significant amount. I wish we could have afforded to get a Generac whole house generator but it’s just not been in the budget for us.
I wish you cold have purchased a Generac generator Kathy. Do you have a smaller type of generator? We have nothing if we lose power and no heat. The temperatures are in the 20’s low 30’s for the weekend.
We have a very small one that we can hook up to the fridge but nothing powerful enough for the furnace 😞
I thought you did purchase a smaller one awhile back. At least you can spare throwing out lots of food.

Got the bedding washed yesterday. It felt like spring yesterday so I hosed off the patio and some of the chairs and things. It was 72°

A wild and windy Pretzel shopping day wind gusting to 34mph with rain of course.
Traffic flowing smoothly today after that accident yesterday.
The sad thing is the cyclist lost his life and the woman driver is under arrest for dangerous driving.
But it is a black spot for accidents.
More wet and windy stuff for the rest of the week no sunshine this week.🙄.
Time to get stuck in to that Pretzel washed down with the good ol coffee.

That is sad,it seems the person on the motorcycle most every time loses their life.
Sorry no sunshine for you this week. We have cold temps and rain moving in in a couple days through the weekend too. Up to an inch of rain they say and snow in the mountains.

Good morning Ice, Terribly sad, the woman has to carry that pain the rest of her life and the cyclist lost his life. A fear we all may have of making a mistake driving. The bus driver in Maine who ran over a young boy this Fall and killed him was just arrested this week for manslaughter. He never intended to kill the child I think it is dreadful they are doing that. Even the parents of the children who ride on that bus say he is a kind good man who always interacted with the children and paid interest… Read more »

That was one of the first things that went through my mind, no matter who was in the wrong that lady driver has to live with that on her mind for the rest of her life.
It has not stopped raining all day up to now so I did enjoy that Pretzel looking out on a very wet scene.😀😘

A terrible tragedy and its a known black spot but even putting traffic lights there a few years ago accidents still happen there.

Good morning, 30 degrees going up to 49. Some cold outside with Danny earlier, still dark and the ice crystals on the grass were glittering like diamonds. I went to our Walmart only about 5 mins. away. I was thinking Monday a quieter day not thinking of the holiday and it was so mobbed there, everyone and his brother was out it seemed. That is one big advantage shopping at Lidl’s they do not have a shop for customers facility, so no trouble with an obstacle course.
I haven’t noticed the employees with big carts but then…we don’t like going to Walmart much, so only go every couple months like when we run out of paper towels or toilet paper..or maybe something in the pharmacy..and only at night, maybe that’s why.
