Good morning. Beryl, Jenn, Ardyth, Kathy, Lynn, Pam. Storm “Chandra” has passed through overnight and it will be passed by this afternoon. Rain and wind at the moment but the outlook is a little more settled for the coming week but colder. This storm not as violent as Ingrid but still caused some damage in the coastal areas. Back in the warm now ready for for coffee and sticks.lol. Coming up the bypass they have over the years planted daffodils on the grass verges and they are already showing through but not in flower yet but not far away now.… Read more »

Hi Jenn.
What a promising sign for sure, you know that Spring is in the air.
Even had to pull the blinds in my room as the sun is shining bright.😀😘

Snowed again overnight and boy was it cold when i got up: minus 8/feels like minus 26 (it was windy) Got up to plus 48 this afternoon before plunging again tonight 🙄 Temps should be climbing all week. Hafta make a run to Pueblo, Kroger/Sams, probably Thurs; plenty of time for any leftover snow to melt and dry up.
Refreshed my hair, it was fading into greyness. 😟

Good Morning! Sunny and 34 going up to 40. With the sunshine and above freezing temps there’s lots of melting taking place. Our driveway is still a sheet of ice so we don’t plan on trying to drive anywhere today. Any surfaces that are still wet this evening will refreeze since the low tonight is predicted to be 12 🥶
I don’t know if you can see the icicles on the grill of our cars from the freezing rain we got towards the end of the storm last evening.

Hi Kathy!! I am sorry to hear you got some of that freezing rain. Glad Craig can stay home …or did they close his work today?

Kathy S
January 26, 2026 9:24 am

Craig was notified yesterday afternoon that work would be closed today due to the dangerous driving conditions. Work will reevaluate the conditions later today to determine if work will be open on Tuesday.

So much better to be safe than sorry; freezing rain creates such dangerous conditions.

Good morning, It is over for us, we only had rain overnight and it is a very light rain now ending by 8am. Yippee, we really dogged the bullet with this one. I have had Kathy on my mind so much, I woke up with a dream of her. She was looking for a lost puppy and I walked with her and we opened a car door and a tiny bitty puppy was inside. It was crazy ( as dreams can be ). Praying she is not without power.🙏 Of course we had the best afternoon watching the game, now… Read more »

Good morning, well if we have a hosepipe ban this year I shall go crazy ! Water everywhere even the sea wants to be on land ! Its not really cold be some days you get up and you can feel that cold creeping up all over and dash for the heating switch which I have just done. Stayed in bed reading a good book called ” Winter Solstice by Rosamunde Pilcher a great writer, I have found staying in bed saves the heat and as no one calls and there is nothing to do , why not ! Good morning Beryl,
I love that book. My favorite of hers and the first of her books I read was the Shell Seekers.
Mark is looking out for you and I’m sure it can be hard for you keeping up with everything.😯
I bet it was great for Nathan seeing the Northern Lights in Iceland, Wow!

Hi Beryl..that is a really good book….I should read it again this winter. I need to look up hosepipe, forgot what it is.
We were lucky enough to see the northern lights here, it was a dream come true for me! I actually twirled around out on my street and watched for a LONG time…then I’d go in for a bit and go back out, it was so amazing and beautiful! I always wanted to see them, ever since seeing the movie the Snowman back in the 80s or maybe early 90s? I believe.

Hi Beryl
Oh how I love to stay in my warm bed when it’s cold!
I haven’t read any books by this author but I just placed a ‘hold’ for Winter Solstice at my public library ☺️ I’ll have to wait a bit for the book to be available because there are 10 people ahead of me that also have a ‘hold’ for this book.
