Osprey Nest Cam – LoLo, MT
Your watching a live video cam of wild Osprey named Swoop and Winnie. Swoop returned for the nesting season with a new mate(2024). Harriet was his previous mate.
The nest is located 45 feet off the ground on the top of a pole. Nesting season is from April to Early August. After the Osprey leave for migration the ranch owners install a bird feeder station on the nest perch.
You will see all kinds of birds including raptors, geese, squirrels and more. The feeder station comes down in spring right before the osprey are about to return.

Their feathers are coming in beautifully
Swoop stands guard while both chicks are fed.
Little one didn’t get to eat at the 12:30 feeding. Getting bonked. At 2:00, the oldest was finally full enough to let the youngest have some fish.
A few minutes later, the parent stopped feeding because of something going on down below. The youngest looked up at the parent and said, “I’m still hungry”.
The distraction stopped and the parent resumed the feeding. Great crop for the little one at the end!
Another fish at 5:20. At this point, both osprey chicks still had some food in their crops from the earlier feedings. The youngest was closest to the parent and started eating. The youngest was biting at the fish and managed to self-feed a few small pieces. After about a dozen bites, the oldest chick started bonking the youngest. When the oldest was done eating, the youngest turned and grabbed some more fish. The youngest got about 30 bites of food, which is good.
so cute, little ones are growing fast.
Just hope youngest is getting some bites these last few days??
Yes for today. Didn’t watch yesterday.
Big floppy fish delivered
So many little birds living in the nest’s interior. They blend right in with the sticks.
It looks like the third egg is non-viable. The first chick hatched on June 9th and today is the 17th (an 8 day difference), so if the egg hatched today, there would be a very big difference in size between the first and third chick. This would make it more difficult for the third chick to get adequate food. Enie was really lucky to have survived last season with 3 siblings competing with him for food. So glad that the two chicks look healthy and are both eating well.
