Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA
Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.
There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. The chicks will continue to grow in the nest for about three to four weeks before fledging. More information about the cams, set-up or to make a donation please visit alyssasnaturesanctuary.org.

Welcome Home Ardyth
😘I have had a long day with little sleep and the makeup and hair done on Sunday.
I took a shower first thing
Ardy you are a mess, talking about hair and makeup. We know you are exhausted, just so glad you are home and with your family and Phamily. Were your flights pretty much on time, at least reasonably so? Hugs and settle in ,relax.
Glad you got your shower😍
Good afternoon. 😊 Dropping in to say hello. Waiting for Ardyth to arrive. I’m on an egg watch at the southwest Florida eagle nest. Expected mom has just been delivered a nice dinner for her, but I won’t be able to watch her devour it. He is a good provider for her though. Still getting daytime temperatures in the mid to high ’70s here, and then have to brace for 35 to 40 at night. Typical Colorado Springs weather spikes. Walk around all day and almost get too hot, and then go to bed and almost freeze. Can’t put too… Read more »
Hi there Karen. I’ve gone to SWFL several times today and will more tomorrow. I can’t believe you have daytime temps in the high 70’s! That football game is on ABC!?!? NO I CANT SEE IT. I don’t want to get $20 off my bill. I want ABC and all the ESPN. This can’t keep going on. I’ll have to change to Hulu. I wonder if they do this kind of crap. 💩😖😫💩🤬🤬

ARDY!!! I’m so happy to see you. Welcome home!
Hi sweetie!!!!!!!
Hello…was with my sister for awhile..went to couple stores, ones that are decorated really pretty for Christmas…I bought a little retro reindeer ornament for my cousin, flavored coffees for me..and at the other one (big estate sale place), a little tin to put the reindeer in. Then we went to Starbuck’s..got spinach feta wraps and I got a gingerbread chai, she got a creme brulee hot chocolate. something like that. Now she and our mom went out of town to find a new washing machine for our mom. Not sure what I want to do now…it’s sunny and looks ice… Read more »
Hi Lynn just got back inside from filling the feeders and its nippily out there😳 I’m still going for a walk, The ginger bread chai sounds delish😋
😀
Hi Lynn. I love those kind of shops. You are fortunate to have them in your town. Sounds like they have nice things, good to just browse.
She does go to some cool places😍
I do like this one but a lot of it is a bit more fancy decorations…fun to look though..my style is more rustic or cottage…once in awhile we do buy a small inexpensive decoration and of course their coffee, my favorite brand.
I’m like you Lynn. I don’t like bling, gold color, fancy like SOME.
it’s a really pretty store to look at though..they close down for a week every year, then open for the holiday open house weekend (last weekend)..everywhere you look, pretty sparkly things..and different themes all over the store, too
Bet they have smells in the air too.
didn’t smell any candles…my favorite store was the one with ‘primitive” style..bought lots of things there and the candles were wonderful..she moved and it’s a ways to go for us..but we did go last fall and this fall
There are other things that smell. Sachet packets. During the holidays Trader Joe’s always sells these little old fashion brooms that are infused with cinnamon. They smell wonderful. Would look so nice propped on a fireplace. Then there is potpourri, other things.
true..but thinking back there wasn’t much like that..maybe just a whiff of the coffee in the back, you can get samples
I like some sparkly bling Miss Sparky⚡
I’m firey not shiney. 😀
Trust me you are shiney
🤣
See big bling😎😘
Lynn, i love the shopping/eating you do 😘 Mmm, the feta/spinach wrap sounds so yummy; i love Greek food.
me too..guess I wasn’t thinking of it as Greek but it is, lol..
I don’t know my country foods. American, Mexican and Chinese. That is about it.
like Pam said, feta…also kalamata olives..i used to make Greek salad, my Greek neighbor gave me the recipe
Feta was a dead-giveaway 😄
Not to me. That is cheese, right? 😂
yes! feta is delicious!
Love feta cheese😋 its good on pizza
Howdy-do BellaFam 💖 Nineteen degrees overnight — brrrr. Sheet day; ugh, i love when it’s done, but those darn flannel sheets are a bear to work with, they stick to everything. And so many layers in winter; sheet, electric blankie, fat comforter; UGH. Been trying to wean the clowder off DST, but their tummies just don’t want to adjust. And i was late because of sheet day. They were noisily, meowing/growling at me while pacing the front porch. The handsome black tom thought getting into the house was the better part of valor; he was wrong. 😄 Chuck made chicken… Read more »
Hi Pam, sounds cozy but think I’d get hot…I go back and forth, cold, hot…funny cartoon 😀 funny about your gramma/grampa…for some people, well, they would probably enjoy the break 😂
Hi Pam!!!!! home made chicken fried steak my mouth is watering, I’m drooling😛 what is DST? can’t figure it out. That gift is a hoot😂
Hi Julie I’ll answer for Pam, Daylight Savings Time.
Yes, thanks Debbie ♥
Hi Pam you sleep with a lot on top of you but you must be toasty warm. So funny about the kitties. How dare you Mama Pam to make is wait for our breakfast! Funny how prompt they are with their demands. I consider your story and your grandparents a true love story.
My bedroom is about 53-57 degrees in the winter, so all those covers are needed. 😁 Gram & Gramp were married for over 53 years before Grampa died.
I hope you don’t have to get up and pee much! I would have to have my CPAP on in bed to breathe because I would have to cover my head. Pam, you are so blessed. You grew up surrounded with so much love.
I usually get up once/twice; it’s not fun rolling out of that bed, and so nice to get back in when it’s nice and toasty.
I’d freeze! But boy snuggling back in.
How sweet, Pam. Your grandparents were such lovebirds. It is getting really cold in your part of the state already. Brrr — so not ready!
I’m going for a walk and I have to fill the feeders see you soon
Off to the dentist.
