Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA
Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.
There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. I like offensive games.
I can do defensive games, as long as the defense part is really amazing! Like pulling rabbits out of their helmets and stuff like that. 🤗 Like you, though, I do prefer offensive games.
I just don’t see much amazing in defensive games, even though I know they really are just as amazing as the offense. It just doesn’t captivate me like the thrill of getting those downs, kicking field goals, making touchdowns.
I understand. I like the touchdowns and field goals more too, but sometimes those defensive backs, etc., really have the moves and blow me away. 🤯
I just couldn’t believe that 101 year old veteran. He definitely didn’t look older than 80, talk like it, mannerisms.
I missed him somehow.
He had two segments. Maybe you didn’t know he was 101.
That could be. Since it’s on PBS and was on YouTube, I can go back and watch it again.
I saw the older gentleman, Debbie. I couldn’t believe it. I thought he handled himself like a 60 or 70 year old!
I’m so happy that Trace talked about the Vietnam vets. I still have trouble with the way they were treated when they got home. He is definitely trying to make it right for them
Glad you saw him. I have said for decades how upsetting it was and is to me how they treated those veterans. The war was very unpopular and so many died. I know there were episodes where they were accused of murdering children. I just know the majority were American heros doing what their country asked them to do. I am thankful for them and their service.
Yes, I am very thankful. My stepdad did three tours. He was never able to sleep peacefully again. Every little noise and he was ready to fight. Fists clenched and in a sweat. I felt so bad him.
That is so very very sad. I’m sorry for what he lived for. Was he WWII or Korean?
Just Viet Nam. My Mom married a younger man after my Dad died of a heart attack at 39.

I think some of them were driven insane by the way they were treated. It was bad enough the way it was over there, and then to come home to the hate. Tragic. But, you are right, Pam, they are trying to make it better for them now.
I do think it is better, people are understanding more what they went through. But it is a shame after the war what they had to go through with the lack of respect and empathy. Sometimes out and out bashing them, spitting on them. Back then I’m not even sure they had the diagnosis of PTSD. I was in college during that time. I had many Laotian friends, I think just one Vietnamese. I got an eye opening what those people went through.
The PBS Veterans show is good.

I read where the last of the Navajo Code Talkers passed; he was 107. Those men were instrumental in the allies winning WWII

I’m back home, I have something very interesting going on in my neighborhood its a Art festival and displayed around my neighborhood and surrounding areas Its called the Terrain public art festival part of a national grassroots Festival “The sun will find us”😍
That IS very interesting Julie. Do you have a display very near you? I think it is good to foster the cohesiveness of a neighborhood.
I walk by one everyday I will take a picture it just looks like a big quilt hanging on a house- They had a box out front with flyers in it with that has a map of where the other displays are so I’m going to follow the map and see them😍 This is a poem from the Flyer. “The sun will find us, small sprouts seeking roots will secure us, hands clasped return protection, Love is ferocious, gates will crumble, we will reach you, an excavation of love.
