Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA

Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.

There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. The chicks will continue to grow in the nest for about three to four weeks before fledging. More information about the cams, set-up or to make a donation please visit alyssasnaturesanctuary.org.

posting up here again…right Julie, we did need a couple but yep, now there are two many…because we thought we were losing a couple but we didn’t I guess…they’ll have to fight it out, lol..but hopefully we can keep most of them, some aren’t too happy about hours and different things…yes, Debbie, some do a lot! but I can understand because they get bored and not everyone likes to sit and look at their phone, they like to stay busy.
DH left for his rentals..not a lot going on today, we’ll watch Bane play in the sprinkler, our entertainment 😀

Good afternoon…took Bane to the farmer’s market, bought tomatoes and onions. Then to the grocery store, bought chips, potato salad, and a strawberry rhubarb pie for when DH grills this weekend. I’ll answer Julie and Debbie up here…Julie, most of the caregivers do have other jobs also so not sure why they are complaining…however, maybe we should have waited a bit before hiring three more..one would have been fine…because one of the caregivers came back and the other is still there…anyway, there’s always a bit of drama, lol…some or all don’t like to be bossed around either…some don’t want to… Read more »

You had no choice about hiring more you had care takers who weren’t reliable to show up

Glad you made it to the markets. You are lucky to have any caretakers that do all that!
