Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA
Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.
There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. Today is Nikki’s 14th birthday. She had NO interest in her meds at 2:00am….now she is sleeping very sound!!! Her cough is pretty bad. I got up with her in the night to help her. I am glad she is resting now.

She was a wild biter….I am sure she was from a puppy mill, she was driven here from Missouri. I had no time to myself for a good hour and half when i got home from work at night….luckily she out grew that !

Toby looked very much like the one in the red hat. He didn’t have the grey snout when we lost him.

Good late morning…DH is working from home today. I haven’t done anything much..well, I did water flowers. I don’t have anything planned so maybe a bit of this and that. It feels strange to be so cool in the mornings…i had hot coffee and sat inside this morning…on the porch now, will get up to the low 80s.

Mowers are here and the dust is flying.
If its that dry the grass isn’t growing it goes dormant. Shouldn’t mow when its so dry…
These services don’t want to skip. They have their schedule and they don’t want to alter it, and is their livelihood.
But if the grass is not growing there is no job to do?
True really. I can see a little difference and it does mulch the leaves which goes back into the soil. But we really don’t. Have many leaves now except the poplar tree.
