Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA
Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.
There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. Taking a moment from going back and forth all day and deciding about exactly what to do in our situation. 🙄 I’ve noticed that Dutchess feels better after eating. I am feeding her very small amounts, very frequently. She is a little better, but still needs a vet to see her. My auto mechanic shop opens at 8am tmrw, as does the vet. I will reach out to them for help tmrw. I wish this hadn’t happened on a weekend. I am just pooped! Now I will read chat from today. 🙂
If she is eating a bit now she should be ok for tonight. Hugs for you dear Karen. I know how a mama worries for her baby. When you see your mechanic be sure to ask if there is any kind of deterrent to keep the squirrels from doing this again. What kind of car did you say you have?

Yep, same symptoms, but not as severe. I’m sure it’s an exacerbation of pancreatitis.

I don’t have the meds. I called in, but I can’t get them without a visit to a vet.
I will make sure I have extra on hand after this episode is hopefully treated.
Good idea. Ask your vet to write refills to have on hand.

We found the perfect blanket, in the closet, to put in her “portable” house bed (for use in any room other than the bedroom). I’m glad little Dutchess has a comfy bed she likes. She has such a good mama. I asked about the car because a lot of Toyotas have squirrel problems. It had to do with some of the wiring has a coating they like to chew on. I forgot what it was made of. Maybe it had some kind of soy? Yes, with only one vehicle it sure would be good to garage it. Your car has very low mileage for a 2008. My car has I think about 28,000 but it is a 2018, 8 years old.
We hardly ever go anywhere. Been that way since I started getting sick in 2008, just months after buying the car.
I keep hoping you will get some of your things fixed. What was the reason you took the prednisone so long?
In 2006, I started having strange probs that couldn’t be diagnosed, and was put on Prednisone. Then I got pneumonia in 2008, almost died twice before a great lung doctor came in and saved my life. But I was still on Prednisone, and i never got back to normal. For several years, my insurance companies wouldn’t let me see the one doctor that saved my life. So you never knew what the strange problems were that started it all? U can’t believe they left you on prednisone for 18 years, and I don’t know why insurance would keep you from seeing your lung doctor. That doesn’t make sense. He is just a regular specialist. Not like you needed to travel to Europe.
We have 2 main hospitals here. Most docs prefer one or the other. One is seen as slightly better than the other. A lot of company or business insurance plans cover one hospital or the other, and most doctors choose one or the other hospital. I ended up with one coverage for some years, and the other coverage for other years, depending on who I worked for, and then depending on Medicaid/Medicare after that. (I had to quit work before age 67, so i had to be on Medicaid for a bit). Nuts, huh? 😀
Most of our doctors have a particular hospital but that doesn’t matter if you just see the doctor in his office. Medicare starts at age 65 but if it was before that I understand about Medicaid.
Oh Karen, it always happens on the weekends……I am sure she will be fine tonight , especially if she is eating. Nikki is having her med tie changed as of today…10am/10pm..she will NOT take her meds at 2am anymore, no matter what i put them in
So you still have to get up out of bed.

I meant to share this earlier about a marketing thing. I take Align every day, a probiotic. I buy it at Amazon. I went to order some “Align Pro” and noticed it was now 90 cents a capsule, up from I think 76 cents. Then I saw just plain Align without the “pro, I think 72 cents a capsule. So I googled the difference in the two for that money. It said there was no difference, same thing. The pro was just marketing. Hello…we’ve had rain on and off for a couple days/nights..and more this week. I went to church and later we might go out..not great weather so maybe to a store, or FIL’s, or both. DH is doing something on the computer and on the phone also, so not sure when..
