Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA
Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.
There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. Just as i thought i was feeling better now, with my baby getting her medicines and being more active, I saw the current U.S. president speak at the U.N. General Assembly. 😡 Thankfully, I had just watched U.N. Secretary-General Guterres give his speech, which was spot-on and made me realize that everyone else would protect the world, even if we are not allowed to. And Mark Carney’s speech to the European Parliament was splendid. The world is actually in great hands, despite one drifter. Most of the world is actually finally pulling together. Yay!!!

Well good grief. The boogy man must be around. Jo got in her van to go get a haircut and the alarm went off. She couldn’t get it to stop, finally did. Then it started again. She drove across the street to the young new neighbor who just came home. He finally got it off, then it started again. Then the alarm went off in my car and no one was even near, but it didn’t sound long. Finally, at least for right now, all alarms are off. Geesh.

Hey, Butterfly! 🦋 😘 🍂 Happy Autumn!! Our neighbor charged the battery yesterday, and we made the necessary stops by leaving the car running half the day. We are having a new battery delivered, and our neighbor has already put special tape on the cables, sprayed special engine and parts protective spray everywhere, and is just waiting on us to get a battery so he can install it. I have to think of a nice gift for him. I don’t think he will accept money.

Ok that is great. You got to drive yourself, but I know it was not easy to keep the car running. I guess someone had to be with the car all the time, even at the vet. I’m so happy you have this good neighbor. He needs a hug. Does he have a family?
Yes, i did the vet and hubby got out for the other stuff, like the half-tank of gas, etc. Jeremy, my neighbor, is in his mid-40’s, married, with 3 kids, 17, 19, 22. Two are now in the military. Just a real nice couple who realize our age and limitations. Not the hug type, i don’t think. That would make him look soft. 🤣

Yes, he was in the Navy. His oldest son is in the Marines, and his daughter is in the Army. I am thinking his younger son will go into the Air Force, but haven’t mentioned it. Jeremy works a full time job while earning his military retirement. He’s only in his 40’s. That seems like the way to go, do one job for 20 years, get good retirement pay, while working a different job that also offers retirement benefits, and retire totally in your 60’s or early 70’s and have a very nice income, with med coverage. Good morning Bella Buds and Happy Fall to you. It feels like fall this morning. 67 outside, 77 inside. Windows are open and my thermometers are only about a foot from the window.
