Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA
Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.
There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. Lots of rain😳 saw lots of standing water here after our rains but no flooding the creek at the end of the street was really high. Is that your rain gage? its so pretty😍 you didn’t have power but wonder what it looked like out on your street-no lights to see by?
Hi Julie ♥ Not my rain gauge, it was on the city’s website. There was nothing to see on my street, pitch dark out there, ‘cept for the lightning flashes.
Hey — I have an update: The neighbor came over with his battery charger and mechanic’s knowledge. Got it started using the charger. Seems to be out of gas, but it wasn’t empty when I last parked it. He left us with his charger to charge it, as he had to run errands. He also brought a gas can with about a gallon of gas in it. What a lifesaver he is! We will now coordinate with the vet clinic and then set out to get gas and then go to the vet. We will worry about follow-up work on… Read more »

Karen before you set off to the vet check your gas. If it is empty then use the neighbor’s gas and drive directly to your mechanics. There is a possibility the squirrels chewed the gas line. It happened to Jo’s Scion. Where this gas line was, required the mechanic to have to drain and remove the gas tank to fix. If you don’t go directly to the mechanic you may wind up with a tow bill for the car and a taxi to the vet. Look under the car to see if you see any evidence of a gas leak.… Read more »
