Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA
Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.
There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. I’m back inside it started raining, I’m happy with what I got done today😍 its funny how Jadie likes to play in water, But as soon as it starts raining she’s in a panic to get out of it. Being where she came from who knows if she was stuck out in the rain when she was young and a kitten she might of been trapped outside in the rain and probably snow😏 my poor baby kitty. 💖

Hi Julie I’m glad you got things done. Yes it is funny she plays in water but doesn’t like rain. Don’t you wish you knew all that happened to her, what she went through. At least you know her approximate age. With Macie she could be 7, she could be 14! I used to love playing in the pool, but hated being splashed in the face! Anyway your baby may have gone through a bad start for a year, but look at her thrive now. She is in kitty heaven, the best of the best life!
I’m glad I got some stuff done too😍 I just watch her reaction to things, she doesn’t like loud noises and is afraid of cars, I wonder if she was with her Mom when she was hit by a car and killed? I do know she suffered and that her foster Mom wasn’t to sure she was going to pull through she was skin and bones, she fed her kitten food to get weight on her and get her stronger. She was in foster care 2 months before I got her
So her Mom was killed by a car. I’m not sure I knew, or remembered that.

Good afternoon…the big thing today was going to the groomer..I have a couple pictures I can send to Ardy..both dogs were pretty good..not perfect but better than they used to be…went to FIL’s for a little while afterwards…that’s about it, not doing much else.

well spunk isn’t bad but Bane was so scared about getting his nails done and hard to manage..DH still has to help hold him but he’s a bit better. Scout is a bit nervous but calmed down after awhile, then started up again..she’s better too, though than she used to be
What kind of tool do they use to clip the nails?
No, you don’t want scared.
not sure, DH is closer when she does that..I did hear a little noise so might have used a dremel but maybe clipped also, not sure though
Some pets do better with one than the other.

Hi Lisa. I was concerned when I read her last pst where she said a neighbor helped her and said she was out of gas. Karen said she knew she had gas when she parked it. Made me wonder if her gas line got chewed by the squirrels.
Oh dear, I hope not. Hopefully we will hear from her soon with good news regarding her car and of course her dearest baby!!! Sounds like you dealt with the squirrels chewing the gas line in the past!!!!

The wouldn’t eat a gas line😝 I was wondering with the price of gas if someone siphoned her gas out of her tank desperate times-I could see someone doing that🤔
Toyota said they chewed a hole in hers, cost about $300. They replaced the line, no more problem.

Lots of rain😳 saw lots of standing water here after our rains but no flooding the creek at the end of the street was really high. Is that your rain gage? its so pretty😍 you didn’t have power but wonder what it looked like out on your street-no lights to see by?

Hey — I have an update: The neighbor came over with his battery charger and mechanic’s knowledge. Got it started using the charger. Seems to be out of gas, but it wasn’t empty when I last parked it. He left us with his charger to charge it, as he had to run errands. He also brought a gas can with about a gallon of gas in it. What a lifesaver he is! We will now coordinate with the vet clinic and then set out to get gas and then go to the vet. We will worry about follow-up work on… Read more »

Karen before you set off to the vet check your gas. If it is empty then use the neighbor’s gas and drive directly to your mechanics. There is a possibility the squirrels chewed the gas line. It happened to Jo’s Scion. Where this gas line was, required the mechanic to have to drain and remove the gas tank to fix. If you don’t go directly to the mechanic you may wind up with a tow bill for the car and a taxi to the vet. Look under the car to see if you see any evidence of a gas leak.… Read more »
