Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA
Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.
There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. The chicks will continue to grow in the nest for about three to four weeks before fledging. More information about the cams, set-up or to make a donation please visit alyssasnaturesanctuary.org.

Good evening or almost anyway…went out for awhile with my sister to a couple shops looking for last minute things..and the coffee shop..we both got tomato avocado bagels and I got a gingerbread chai. Then she picked up my mom and we went again, I should have stayed home because I’m so tired now, and was tired before..they spent a long time, too long for me, in a store. I like the phrase “get out of town guests” in Ardy’s posts…sometimes there are too many of them, lol…
DS is out running…DH is going to cook up a concoction..
Hi Lynn still sounds like a good day. Is your son staying with you? You will have to tell us what your husband is cooking up.
Have you been doing things with DS?
I said what??? When did I say that?😃
Happy Christmas Eve Eve ⛄🎄🎅🎄🎅🎄 ⛄
Mailed the last of the cards today; so nice to be done, 2 days before Christmas 😄 Thank goodness for Christmas bags; wrapping is not a necessity.
😁🤣
😂
✋💛🙂
Good for you finding them…lol. Yep, bags are great. I also like the pre- decorated boxes.
At Pam, I have never watched the bells of St. Mary and I am watching it now and haven’t finished. It probably won’t today. It is very good.
Oh Ardyth, it really is a delicious movie; it’s one of DB/Rick’s faves — my Dad loved Ingrid.
I am really liking it….I may have seen parts of it, it seems familiar.
I saw it awhile back and enjoyed it.
it’s one of my favorite holiday movies.
How has your day been my friend?
TV trouble and I’m frustrated! I’ve sprayed bleach in my shower, cooked a little, washed dishes, watched a couple of shows on my iPad.
Sounds like enough housework to me, What’s up with the TV?
Buffering constantly. I think the “smart” part is out, so we tried to go through the Roku. Now it is doing it.
I wish I knew how to help. not good with that stuff. Has this happened before?
I rebooted my router and for now it stopped. But it has stopped before so time will tell.
Geez, I just snapped out of a doze in recliner. Okay, so I see that the TV is working again? What a pain. That would drive me nuts.
You needed a nap. You have earned it.
Is that Ingrid Bergman? Loved her! Amazing actress and so lovely. I’m trying to think of the one with her and Bogart.
You must mean Casablanca
yes, I think that was it. I forget titles and such if it has been awhile.
I’ve never seen it but will look for it. I get alot of old movies with this free TV streaming.
Debbie, how is your day going by yourself? Are you getting done what you were going to do? Finding some time to relax?
Good morning, still morning here. I clean today and decided to do the whole house so I won’t have to do any tomorrow. Rick went to the vet and got the pill for $28 and I guess we have to buy two more so she takes them for 3 months. Then they said we need to treat the cats. Just like you guys said dang that medication was $40. We have never had any animals until these that have cost us money.
Hi Ardy. I hope you don’t have extra pains from all that housecleaning. Are you expecting company over the holidays? Sorry you have all the expense with the kids. Seems we always have. Does no one use the behind the neck little flea prevention any more? Our vet still recommends those even though our cat never goes outside. She says we can bring fleas in. But we don’t use them much anymore because they are expensive and not the best for the cat. We will probably give her one in the beginning of the summer. I really don’t know how… Read more »
Hi Debbie! I clean every week. The whole house. I usually clean 3/4 of it on Tuesday and then I finish it on Wednesday morning. But I just thought I’d finish it today. I normally go to church on Christmas Eve morning but after getting covid last year I have decided to stay home. Just my sister coming for supper and opening presents like we always do. I’m not cleaning for her. I’m just cleaning because it’s my cleaning day. Nikki got a pill that you take once a month for $28. They want her to take it for 3… Read more »
Good grief Ardy. Did I read that right. ONE PILL cost $28? Wow. Good thing you didn’t let Michi out, you don’t want that stuff getting wiped off. Big difference in the two cats.
is Covid going around in your area? Or just being precautious.
So, your sister is coming tomorrow or Christmas Day? Does her husband come to? Y’all have a good time, I’m sure the food will be good.
Yes, one flea pill for the dog cost $28. Thankfully it’s just one time a month. Oh miji was not happy. He was running around the house. Acting weird and sitting by the door. She wanted to go out so bad. We finally let her out now though, but I didn’t want her rolling in the dirt. No Covid is not going around. I am being superstitious. Because last year 45 plus people in our church got covid. On Christmas Eve at the services people bring their get out of town guests. So there’s just more more people that have… Read more »
wow, I didn’t know it was such a process to get rid of fleas…bummer!
Well part of the reason Nikki has to take pills is because she’s on heart medicine and they want it to be compatible. But the vet said if the pills don’t work then put that liquid on there neck expensive and a process. Yes.
YIKES! That’s a lot of $$$
At least we didnt have to take her to the Vet or we would of had a office charge.
It would probably wound up costing me $300.
we don’t give the flea stuff in the winter, I like to give them a break..actually haven’t given any to cats in years.
We aren’t doing it very often.
PROBABLY……LOL
It all adds up!!! Between Nikki and Roger we have had more vet bills than with all of our pets put together.
What is it that you have to treat all the paw’d ones in the home?
Bye everyone I will be in touch through Debbie Love you all💖
Love you Julie, be safe, we all will be glad when you are back. We love you, have a great time.
bye Julie, safe travels and have a wonderful time with your family 💕
Good morning…sipping my apple cinnamon fritter coffee….made some for DS and he left, going to Wisconsin today! a town called Brookfield, to a camera shop there…texted my sister to see if she wants to go to a coffee shop and maybe a little shop downtown or some store. We were all at FIL’s last night, not all at the same time though.
Good morning Lynn, coffee sounds good. Your son is going a long way to a camera shop. Hope your sister and you can have a nice time doing something together. I imagine there will be a lot of people out shopping.
HI Debbie..yes and to him it’s nothing..he lives where there is nothing nearby and you have to go a couple hours to Walmart or any stores like that.
Not sure of my sister’s plans yet…she may have something to do at our mom’s house but they did organize presents and put them in bags yesterday.
We are only 30 minutes to a Walmart, Cracker Barrel, small Penney’s, and Lowe’s. There are a lot of things we would need to travel to Lexington for, a camera shop would be a good example, a physical Apple Store, Trader Joe’s, and more options for buying things. I had to go to Lexington to find shoes that would work with my braces.
takes us maybe 10 to get to Walmart and we have two Krogers, one is just a few minutes away…lots of restaurants within 5-10 minutes away.
There is a closer Walmart to us but it isn’t as nice as the Somerset one. Our Kroger is a small one, always low on stock, more narrow isles. I can tell by your posts you live in a very nice town with lots of privately owned shops and restaurants with “atmosphere”.
I hear you on that. The older I get, the less I want to commute. You did luck out on a Cracker Barrel…lol. How far is it to Lexington?
The Cracker Barrel is 35 minutes away so we only go there if we are in Somerset already, then we get take out. Lexington is about 85 miles to outskirts.
oh, I wish you were closer to more stores you use so you didn’t have that commute.
Good morning Lynn nice day to travel- Brookfield that’s by Milwaulkee
Hi Julie…when do you leave?
Good morning Lynn, I hope you have a good day whatever you end up doing.
Lynn, I’m normally not a coffee drinker but oh my that apple cinnamon fritter coffee sounds delish!
