Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA
Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.
There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. Well they really exist. I don’t know if they are called jerky but they are definitely that part of an animals body, and available in pet shops. I’m not kidding. I think they even come in different sizes.
I know what you mean and it grosses me out just to think about what it is. I’ve seen ’em in pet stores. But I reckon a dog doesn’t care much what it munches on as long as it is tasty! 🥴

Lin to the rescue. I’m sorry for your neighbor. Ouch.
Lynn just left. I’m not quite sure how she did this – she was opening her back door from her kitchen into garage and the bottom of the door caught her big toe nail pulling it up off her nail bed. It is only attached at the bottom of the bed. She has so much funky keratin under her nail, was impossible to clip nail. Plus, like most of us old folks, her toenails are thick and hard. So cleaned and treated it.
Poor thing; it’s going to hurt for a long time
It’s weird Pam – it’s not very tender. I think it is because she has hardened keratin over her nail bed so that the nail actially separated from the keratin I think. Which is less vascular.
I did the exact same thing 4-5 years ago except it was my bedroom door. It took the nail probably 3 years to be normal again. The nail will come off, but it may take a few months. Just let it be and try not to hang it on something.
She’s a prima donna so will not be happy if the new nail grows in funny. This is my neighbor friend I call Duchess and she calls me Peasant Girl. She gets pedicures and manicures, face peelings, only buys clothes from the fancy stores, would never shop at a Goodwill. Amazing we like each other. We vote at opposite ends too. But we are good friends. We crack each other up almost as if we were related. I think because we bring alot of humor.
That is a wonderful relationship. It just works.
Great way to say it Debbie. You’re right…it just works. We have enough in common and love to laugh that it helps. She too is an avid gardener. When it gets too close to anything politically uncomfortable, we know when to back off, she means well, she’s just a princess. She doesn’t like animals or birds or bugs. Hates squirrels. Wouldn’t enjoy a walk in Nature. Imagine that!
Y’all probably enjoy visiting and laughing in your houses but probably wouldn’t want to spend a day together going somewhere.

Julie called just now. She said she got to her parent’s house 2 hours ago but her Mom said she needed a few things at the grocery. So off they went. They were there 2 hours! She saw 4 bald eagles on the way. Two were in a tree. Then there was a deer roadkill and an eagle on it. They went on and another road kill with an eagle on it. She hasn’t a clue what they will have for supper.
Good lord, All that road kill! Must be out in the country. Glad she made it there safely!

Ha Ha. Maybe. Lynn’s house is beautiful inside and out. Too much for me. I have days where I don’t make my bed or wash all the dishes. Usually dictated by body aches and pain.

Never heard of that breed. Reminded me a bit of a Pekingese…may have misspelled that. Does #5 mean you have had four before but no longer? My friend Becky loves the shetland breed and is on her 5th or 6th. Easy to fall in love with a breed. I’m drawn to big dogs. Bit have had small as well.

Yesterday I went shopping for a friend’d dog for Christmas. Toddy is an older dog and a rescue. Not into toys but lobes treats. I love her dog! He is so sweet. So I got everything on the list – dried sweet potatoes, a bag of dried organic apples and the same of banana. And a bag of dick jerky.
Yum yum. Except the dick.
