Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA
Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.
There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. Back for a minute…the frisbee was found…he thinks when she takes it in the ravine it rolls down the hill, it was half way down. We have had a couple disappear before, maybe raccoons is our guess. DH is taking a gift bag to the caregiver after work (one more gift bag left after that ) and will pay her…so we’ll see what time he can get away from there and if he wants to go out for a bit.

Good late morning…had some white Christmas coffee this morning. We have a little dusting of snow on the ground, not much. When DH took Scout out his morning, they couldn’t find her frisbee..he even saw the circle in the snow where it had been. Sometimes we can’t find one, so we’ll see..maybe he’ll look some more at lunch time. I’ll see if DH wants to go to a restaurant later but we don’t usually do that on weekend nights. Morning Lynn, you think Scout could smell where her frisbee is it has her scent on it? Oh DH saw where it was ?any foot prints around the spots like did someone a dog or person take it?
he didn’t mention footprints, think he would have..sometimes a toy or frisbee disappears..and sometimes we find it
I imagine some wild animals are curious about toys. I could see a raccoon doing that.
