Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA

Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.

There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. The chicks will continue to grow in the nest for about three to four weeks before fledging. More information about the cams, set-up or to make a donation please visit alyssasnaturesanctuary.org.

Oh no, Lin. Can you stream Sling or something to get some of the shows you might have lost? I use it, and I really like it. You may have explained this already, but I think I might have missed it. I’m sorry, I don’t want you to have to explain it twice.

I watched the first episode of the show last week, Julie. 😉I really enjoyed it, it’s such a warm, feel good show. I forgot about it being on last night. I’ll have to see if I can get it in a rerun. I just love the animals and how they are portrayed. 😍

Oh Julie, I always wanted to try stuff like that, but I was too afraid. I made my brother do it. 🤣😅😂 He still loved me afterward. I was the true stinker. I feel kind of bad about it now, but he took it all in good humor. He was probably just as curious as I was, but never said anything. 🤗

Hi Julie. I see you are home now warm and snug. You melted my heart, what you did for that man. I did the same for a guy begging from the edge of the co-op lot today. When I told my neighbor (the one who loved Tr..mp, she chastised me and said such awful things about the man. He was madly talking to himself and singing. You and I know how cold it was today. I handed him money and told him I didn’t care how he spent it, I just wanted him to have it. He was missing alot… Read more »

Thats wonderful you helped today too😘No reason for putting down someone who is singing or talking to himself, people need to show more compassion towards others, show a little kindness even respect

I’m ready🥶🙂 Got candles out and a lantern. My neighbor gave me some bulbs he got at Home Depot that stay on for 3 hours after electricity goes out..Cell charged. Just in case we lose electricity. Had to go all the way to Menards to get the animal and environment friendly salt I use. I should check with Ace Hardware to see if they carry it. They’re closer.

Hi Lin. 🤗 I didn’t know they had safe salt. I am definitely going to start using that. We don’t use it often, but every now and then, we will.

It is more expensive but there are so many dog walkers on my street and rabbits and squirrels that leap about so it made sense for me to use this salt rather than the standard sodium chloride. Here’s the brand I use.
