Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA

Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.

There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. The chicks will continue to grow in the nest for about three to four weeks before fledging. More information about the cams, set-up or to make a donation please visit alyssasnaturesanctuary.org.

Hey All !! 🦅 🐒 I’m so glad to hear your Dad is getting his bladder problem taken care of, Julie. 😍 Hopefully that is causing a lot of his problem, and he will be so much better. 🙏 That saying you wrote is famously paired with the slogan “make America go away.” Sad. I just realized today that the days are getting longer and the nights are getting shorter. At 5:00 p.m. it was still light outside. Yay! The winter solstice was on December 21st. I heard the speech by the Canadian Prime Minister today at the DAVOS World… Read more »

Oh I’m glad you found out. That is treatable and they will get him on IV antibiotic. Bladder infections can cause falls to. May have been one of the reasons he fell in the first place. I spent about 6-7 weeks in the hospital/rehab when I was sent home. I had been doing great. I couldn’t make it up the garage step, fell, some neighbors got me up, I spent the night in my recliner wetting myself. Early the next morning home health got me into Jo’s van and then to Vanderbilt. I couldn’t walk at all. It was all… Read more »

Definitely. I bet before the hospital saw the stroke and thought that was the only issue and didn’t even check his urine.

I had more than one. It had to be the reason for that last fall. I was doing so good until my discharge day from rehab. I was trying to pack, got caught in a certain position in the process and didn’t dare move so I literally yelled for help. Someone got me to sit on the bed. I thought I just did to much with packing. Then they got me to the car. I told Jo to get me something we had in the car to drink, thinking I needed calories. So I drank that. Then at home I… Read more »

So had it already been planned to take you to Nashville Vanderbilt?
Also, it’s really rotten that you had to sit, all messed up, for over 16 hours! They couldn’t get somebody to come and help you before that? When did this happen? And when did they discover the bladder infection?

No it wasn’t planned at all to go to Nashville until Home health came the second time. In between there I thought and thought where I should go. Maybe Univ KY Hospital? Then I decided Vanderbilt. It is a top hospital, maybe they could help. I told Jo and she agreed. So off we went. We must have picked up Nancy.

Thanks. What do the cranberry capsules do? That experience didn’t happen back in 2023 did it? Oh, by the way, I watched a recording of the Australian Open, first night. Got to see Roger and Andre. I thought Andre was just the hottest thing going back then. And then Roger was so cute and such a nice guy, and, a great tennis player! And it was nice to see Rod Laver too. Did you watch it?

I couldn’t find it. Where did you find it? I really wanted to see it. Yes, that was the last 2 weeks of my 2023 ordeal. The cranberry doesn’t cure a UTI but it helps prevents it from happening. It works by preventing the bacteria from attaching to the bladder and multiplying. I told my doc I was taking it and her comment was “excellent”. It is a real thing.

Good to know about bladder infections. I didn’t realize you had that trouble when you got home from the hospital. 😩 Here’s the title of the video on YouTube:

It may open at the 1/4 or 1/2 way mark, if so just rewind to the beginning. Let me know if you have trouble finding it.

Thank you Karen I really appreciate it. I was so disappointed I couldn’t find it.
I wasn’t home really but that one night from the hospital/rehab until I left for Vanderbilt. I don’t know if I did any communicating at the time. I really don’t remember. You probably thought it was all one run. But in those 2 months I was in 3 hospitals and 2 rehabs. It probably seemed just one place to you. I was transported to them by both car and ambulance.

I wish you had mentioned that you couldn’t find it, I could have had it to you sooner 🤗 And yes you are right, I think I thought you were only at one hospital, one time. That was such a terrible thing for you. I hope you never have to go through anything like that again. 🌹

All of it is taped for the most part. Right now Alcaraz is playing live and I have it on. I don’t know if I’ve seen any live tennis before this. He is such a cutie with a terrific personality. I’m glad you found it. And yes, I was sick when you went into the hospital in the middle to late ’23 and were so sick. I got sicker and had my surgery in May of the following year, ’24.
I had talked to u at SWFL and then started talking on the hummer site when you ended up in the hospital in order to keep updated on your situation.

Sunny and Spring-like 64 degrees today after a freezing 12-degree overnight. Haven’t called HVAC company back; furnace seems to be working okay.
Chuck went to Walmart to re-stock some things; he forgot the list & what was on it; forgot the bags (Colo has a bring your own or pay for each) 😄 poor guy. He’ll have to go back again tomo; hopefully a bit better prepared. 😏
Downloaded Jacinda Ardern’s book, A Different Kind of Power from the library.

Oh my, Pam. Poor Chuck. Something I have done. But I had to kind of chuckle. 😅What were we even thinking about before and during the trip? Only a month or two to go before you want to get a new furnace, right? I bet that will be a very interesting book. You’ll have to let me know. I might try to read it. Maybe gain a little more perspective about things. 😂
