Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA

Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.

There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. The chicks will continue to grow in the nest for about three to four weeks before fledging. More information about the cams, set-up or to make a donation please visit alyssasnaturesanctuary.org.

Back in from shoveling it was only like 3 inches but we are getting more so it’s good to get that little bit off, when I came in my brother asked if I shoveled the drive way😂told him no, not with my back. Plus I don’t have a truck parked in the driveway he does so he can shovel it

🤣. I would be really distraught if you shoveled more than a pathway to walk in that driveway.

Good morning Bella Buds. We are 42 now but like everyone else we will get very cold for us this weekend. I’m worried about our neighbor’s cat. Our neighbor Ruth had 2 cats we suspect were litter mates. The female was strictly indoor, the male was in and out at her choosing. Ruth had cancer she beat but dementia she didn’t. Apparently she is very bad and some time ago her husband just put the female out. I don’t know if he feeds but the girl does eat at our neighbor’s and she has I think a homemade little shelter.… Read more »

Good Morning Debbie, so the female cat doesn’t have a home? poor kitty😪just putting out a cat that’s used to being a indoor cat is so cruel. If you left your garage door cracked a bit she would take shelter there with the very cold happening and coming, its nice your neighbor is feeding her. And then wonder if the cat is fixed?Glad the gas pains have gone, Early to bed with you or a nice nap in your recliner with Macie on your lap good Snuggles😻

That man is definitely cruel and/or stupid. She is spayed and was well taken care of. The best place for the cat is the barn. I don’t know if the shelter I made is still out there? I made it for our two barn cats. It was a box in a box with real house sheet insulation between the boxes. Then more insulation outside the boxes. There was an animal heating pad inside that plugged up. It was big enough for both cats. But I’ve never seen the cat come here. Well, I think once back in the summer. I… Read more »

Yes the males probably dead, but this poor house cat who did nothing wrong is not use to being outside wish you had a shelter who would come and trap her and get her to a indoor situation for her.

The insulated box is still in the barn I asked Jo. But the cat doesn’t go anywhere that I see except “home”, or what was home, and the across the street neighborhood.

Sorry for ruth, and sorry for the female cat. Your barn-shelter sounds really good.
Even when you dont see the female in your area, they are nosy and with the cold coming she might find it, when you have the barn opened a little for her.
The man should have rather taken her to an animal shelter with a chance for a new home for her.
Glad that the gas has left you and no more pain.🙂💨💨💥😁.

Good day everybody…..and poof. TV time. Soon 8 pm. Good health to julies dad.👋

The barn has a small open area the cat can squeeze through. Both our outside cats could squeeze under there on their belly. It didn’t take wiggling, they could do it quickly. It is really safer for them that the opening is that small since no bigger animal can follow them inside. There is another place the cats could squeeze in that is a little tighter but I saw them do it when they could just walk to the front. If we see any cats out there we can plug in the pad. Enjoy your tv time.
