Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA
Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.
There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. I have heard this happen up north it sounds like fire works going off. Lakes also make big boomsas the ice gets thicker and cracks.It’s very errie to hear these things at night

I think she will stay in too. Might want the salt to help feed the birds. I don’t know. I’m not sure if we have any rock salt. There is a little bag of something in the garage but I think it is epson salt!

My biggest fear is a power outage. We have no alternate heat that doesn’t require power. I used to feel if push came to shove we could go out to the RV and use the generator. But alas the RV is gone.
