Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA
Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.
There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. The chicks will continue to grow in the nest for about three to four weeks before fledging. More information about the cams, set-up or to make a donation please visit alyssasnaturesanctuary.org.

PAM
Do you know what happened with Cathy Ellis, the lady who could draw and paint so nicely ? Havent seen her in ages.
Pam ,do you remember what you used to post for the night a long time ago ? Firefighters…first responders…travelling folks… .That was so nice, can you post that one more time ? 😍
Poof ….
HI Gabi
Cathy is on FB all the time.
Oh ,good to know. I hope she is well.🙂
Yes she is.
🙂,thanks ardy for the info.
Hi and Bye Gabi, just ate more tofu😋
Tofu is a good thing.
Delish, it makes me feel healthy with lots of veggies. I told my Mom about your herring salad she said it sounds so good😋
Oh how sweet. I am glad that your mom liked the idea of the 🐟herrings🐟. I need to do something with my tofu soon. Might fix it like you did. That really looked good . Were those fresh mushrooms or from a can?🙂.
The togu was alright, too. 😂😆…..fabbit, lol.
I saw that I didn’t do the Fabbit right LOL I saw the fogu too corrected it😂
I know, lol. You had togu first, haha. I knew of course what you meant. It just reminded me of the fabbit, lol.
My typo is always: when i write “dear” , i write “deaf” instead, like deaf julie, lol. I always reread my stuff before i post it. There would be a lot of mess if i wouldnt do that. My tablet has a small typing zone and i always hit the wrong letters. Its like what jade would type, lol.😄
I should reread before I post but that’s what makes it fun if you don’t like bloopers😂
What a paunch !
Bloopers are fine with me. Sometimes its not easy for me to understand them bloopers, but most of the time i do understand it, lol.😁
Hi Gabi ♥ I talk to Cathy frequently. I’ll tell her you asked about her; she’ll appreciate it. 💖
Here’s my goodnight from Covid-times:
Everyone stay safe, warm/cool & dry. Prayers of health for our BellaPhamily & their families; all who serve & protect, Military, Doctors, Nurses, First Responders, Long-Haul Truckers, Police & Firefighters, & all those in the service industry who continue to do their jobs; as well as those ill, in pain or harm’s way. Love and hugs all around ♥ Special prayers for our traveling Phamily members.
Still wonderful and relevant.
It is.😘
Thats it. You had that goodnight already long before covid. But i think without the long haul truckers and the service industry. I always liked to read that . Thanks for posting it, it really is an all-embracing beautiful goodnight. Love it.
Oh yes, give my regards 🌻🙂 to Cathy. I am glad she is well.
Does she still live in this apartment? And still has her little dog ?
Good late morning…last night we were going to try a new restaurant but it was too busy so we went to Cracker Barrel…mostly we just go there in the winter so we can sit near the fireplace. I have a gift card but didn’t see anything I wanted in the gift shop this time. i don’t have a lot planned for today, but maybe we’ll go to Aldi later for a couple things and see FIL, if it doesn’t get too late. DH came home late from his dad’s and has a burial right now so won’t be here for… Read more »
Hi Lynn. It will probably be a better experience to go to the new restaurant at a little later date. A lot of new places just don’t have it all together yet, and the crowd makes it worse. I love the fireplace a CB!
yes we’ll wait a bit..we thought we’d waited long enough..I’m thinking it will always be busy and we’ll have to go at an off time. I love the fireplace, too.
Happy day Lynnsorry you didn’t get to try the new restaurant, but I know you like cracker Barrel. Its good they were busy for being new, makes you wonder if its busy because its new or the food is good LOL😋 I worry about people too and animals, When I go over to the Dollar store I’m taking the hand warmers I have if I see any one who might need them
Hi Julie…I’ve seen lots of comments and everyone that has tried the new one said a bit expensive but the food is good. We do have some here that have been around for a few years now and always busy, popular places. We have several warming centers here…I always ask the mail lady if she’s warm enough but she is usually prepared.
Checked a comment on my bell and big misteak all of todays posts are gone😫
😮
I just see yours Deborah but todays posts are gone?
I wonder if you refresh they will come back
I tried that, I’m going to shut down and come back in
Go to the main page with all cams listed and come back. All posts are here.
That can happen, happened to me a lot lately.
The today’s post are probably not gone. Old posts have been brought to the top which pushes new posts down. What happens is a whole thread comes to the top even though you only looked at one comment. I wish that could be fixed.
Exactly.
Checking emails, will check back here in a bit
Good morning Bella Buds. Right now we are 37. It feels like the calm before the storm. We are located right on the edge between lots of snow or maybe enough frozen rain to bring down power lines. Of course I prefer snow! Loosing power is my biggest fear, well, along with tornadoes. I’m not as worried about the furnace going out. If we loose it but not power we can make do with space heaters. But no power, no way to heat. We could go where ever we could find a motel, but could we drive?` I didn’t worry… Read more »
Good Morning Debbie, make sure your furnace filter is clean- that makes it run easier and not make the furnace work harder- and have your flash lights handy-charge things for the just Incase. Whipers up on the car window. Just hunker down, hope it stays above freezing for you😘 If power goes here I have no wifi, but that’s not happening like what’s to happen in the south😫
Good idea on putting up the wiper. Jo is good about the furnace filters I don’t think it is very old. I’m charging my little jumper box right now. Once charged it holds its charge a long time. Just now it had 79% charge and it was left on! It has been months! We have these little lanterns, like 3-4 inches tall but they put out a lot of light. I’m going to be sure we have plenty batteries for them. So, my brain is working.
Put some cover on the car windshield.
You have shutters outside on your windows ? If closed they retain heat inside. I know you dont like darkened windows, but maybe in this case….
No shutters but we have double pane windows and then there is a storm window.
Thats good.
Prepare hot water in thermos jugs, so you could make hot tea or coffee.
Buckets with water to flush toilet in case any pump which pumps water to your bathroom has no power. Can use this cold water, to wash hands , teeth and face, too. Oh good grief !
The truth is if we loose power we will have to find a place to go.
Ok, maybe then catch a cab ? Maybe getting info in advance, which cab would drive in such bad weather. Just thinking…..
You mentioned shelters with generators, maybe your community website has info …where they could be.
Take care debbie and jo. It probably will be not so bad.
Me going to a bible meeting soon, so i say good night.😘
Taking a cab isn’t any safer its still being on the road and just shouldn’t be driving
Yes, but they might want to go somewhere to a shelter…
I thought maybe better than driving on their own. Maybe a cab has different wheels/tires for ice or snow.
Well, i might be wrong.
Take care.
Would be something to use earlier than later-it just puts the cab driver at risk too, like when the weather is bad you don’t order delivery just puts that person in danger
Yep.
I don’t think we have any taxi now. Once we had one man in the county who did this. Probably our local fire department, police, rescue squad would work together to help people. They will know all about the local options and will probably provide transportation to places. They are best equipped. If we think we can drive, the radio will broadcast info for the public too.
Ooops, that is different from here then. We have taxis which we can call to pick us up. The taxis are also for people who need to go to medical treatments, like chemotherapy, dialysis or simply to the airport and dont want to drive on their own.
Well, it is good to know that there would be people to help you.
Yes, I live in a rural area but I am within city limits of a small town. There will be help available. I’ve lived here 45 years and have never been as concerned as this time.
I know the name of your little town. R..se.l S.r.n.s.
I already saw it on google maps.
You will be ok debbie, i am sure. God bless you guys.😘🙏.
Thanks Gabi.
You had once mentioned the name of your town. Long ago. That’s how i know.
Good night now, habibi. Good luck with everything weather – wise.😘
😂. You have the memory of an elephant! Good night sweet Gabi. You are loved.
Click on it….
😁😂🥰♥️♥️♥️
We have city water and sewer, no pumps.
We have city water and sewer, too. Our water comes into this house through a waterpipe in the basement and a part of it gets heated within the oil heating/hot water system and then little pumps bring it to the different floors.
Here in the house where i am : no power, no pumps, no water.🙄.
I understand that Gabi. You live in a multi-dwelling building. We still have to worry about frozen pipes.
Yeah, i am a multi dweller, lol. And a multiculti dweller, too.😬
Hoping that your pipes will not freeze.
Thats great Debbie, better to be prepared than trying to find things in the dark😘
There’s the hotel where Judy and I stayed that’s close to you
If we loose power good chance the whole town will, but maybe not. I hope no one looses power. I’m sure there will be shelters with generators.
Check you city management that they have these things and where are they, if a just Incase happens better to know-like I know the library by me is a warming shelter
Our library is a warming shelter too.
Julie do you remember if the motel had a microwave? Or a little dorm refrigerator?
I like that…”we usually worry the most about things that never happen” …I hope everything goes well
Thanks Deb.
Good luck with everything. 😘
Thanks Gabi.
hope you don’t lose power but at least you can prepare ahead of time, I like Gabi’s ideas…we didn’t have time to prepare before the tornado and no power for four days…there were lots of kind people and businesses though.
I think I would pack up everything Macie and Casey needs and drive how ever far is needed to get a motel room.
Thank you lynn. I hope there will be no more tornado for you.
How terrible !
Good Morning
Lynn texted me early and her and I are going to breakfast.
Wonderful😍
That will be nice! Lunch yesterday, breakfast today. Eat something good.
Good morning Bellas we didn’t get snow last night it stayed south of us, We are 8 right now feels like -3 it will get colder during the day and night winds coming from the north. will be very cold tomorrow -30 -40. Will go and get Jade temptations today, I had a old box of Cherrio’s that wasn’t open so I poured half the box out on the ground, very early this morning there was a rabit eating them😍 I have a friend who has house rabbits and she gives them Cheerios as a snack, it has good things… Read more »
💗Good morning Julie
I am sure that rabbit appreciated the Cheerios.
I needed to get rid of it-out dated, but I didn’t want to waste it so half the box went on the ground, I will put the other half out tonight😃
