Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA
Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.
There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. So as most of you know, from Julie, the Midwest will dive even deeper into the Artic cold overnight. With wind chills, some areas down ro 45 below. Just seeing the national weather. They are showing this winter freeze will hit the South too. So you stay warm and safe too

Me too……not an ice fan. Hmmm let me say that again…not and ICE fan…lol. So is ice what is predicted for your area?
I imagine you worry about Casey if you lose power.
Yes I worry about Casey and Macie and us. We can get ice and snow. Snow has little chance of causing a power outage but the ice could easily do it. Last I heard we were in for .25-.75 inches of ice. In the 45 years I’ve lived here I think 5 hours was our longest power outage. But what sets this apart is the geographical area is large, it will take a lot to get power back on for so many. One county won’t be able to help the other county because they will be busy themselves.
Who is Macie? I only know about Casey.
One positive is that power crews have had some time to prepare. And you and Jo are prepared too. I know this is stressful. I’d be stressed too. Just try to take deep breaths and try to get some sleep so you will be better equippeed to handle whatever comes. We all love you and we are praying for you and sending you lots of love.

I made a lot of mistakes when I first started in 2016. I had never done any kind of social media and I did not know proper etiquette. It was all my fault.

I don’t like it either. I have a sloped driveway and held my breath pulling up the drive when I got home. The sun was just about to set and I worried the driveway would be slick. But it was fine.
You stay in now! You don’t need to go anywhere. You be sure to check in at least a couple times EVERYday. If you are busy you don’t have to stay. Just let us know you are ok. If you don’t I’m going to prepare wet noodles. I haven’t done that in a long time. You should tremble with fear!

I’m worried about ice bringing down power lines. We can get snow and ice both. I’ve got my power pack charged up, and some flashlight little lanterns ready. Jo is going to get extra batteries for them tomorrow. We have 3 vehicles completely full of gas. I’m going to fill some jugs with filtered water tomorrow. I’ll be sure my phone and tablet are charged up. Both are cellular enabled as far as getting internet. I have my old tablet and phone but neither of those will work if I have no power, hence no WiFi. I just saw weather map and I see Ky is in that scary area, I’m going to be praying for you and Jo and Casey, I will be checking in here the next few days to see how everyone is faring. We don’t have a vehicle garage but my car is a few feet away. But if it is ice, I don’t know if I can make it. Just have to wait and see.i don’t think I will loose cell phone or tablet charge. I have the little power pack. It can jump start an RV several times on a charge so I believe it can keep my electronics charged. And yes I can charge in the car.
Good to know about the charger so people can call you and you can call out. Oh Debbie, I sure hipe neither of you hs to walk outside on ice, Can you park the car even closer?
Maybe a little. We will watch the forecast, hope maybe the ice will be a little more south. I’m not afraid of snow.

Poor kitty Jack Frost was rescued today he’s paralyzed from his neck down they have him under care at Furball Cat Sancuary he has seen a vet waiting for exray results, He needs a miracale and prayers
