Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA

Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.

There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. The chicks will continue to grow in the nest for about three to four weeks before fledging. More information about the cams, set-up or to make a donation please visit alyssasnaturesanctuary.org.

Debbie, Have you gotten in touch with your friend?

I texted the daughter. Nancy was in recovery and her daughter, Alyssa, had just been in to see her. She said Nancy was high as a kite! It went well.

Oh dear. I got a call from the State about my insurance change coming 1/2026. My RA medicine is not being covered. She said my doctor can apply for an exception. I told her how my hair fell out and I watched my hand visibly change with methotrexate to the point buttons are hard. The Enbrel didn’t help but I’m better with the Orencia.

I think they will make an exception. I’ll ask the NP to be sure to document the hair loss and visible changes in my hand on the methotrexate/Enbrel. She will probably see the change in me for the better on the Orencia. I really believe they will do it.

With RA once damage is done it can’t be undone. I’ll have to live with my hands now, just don’t want them to get worse. So if I have to pay I’ll just have to pay and make lifestyle changes. But I’m optimistic really.

One of them is an infusion drug so I would have to go to the office and be hooked up to an IV.

They have about 5 medicines that are “formulary”, therefore approved. I started looking them up but finally decided since I see the RA NP tomorrow I’d just wait to see what she says. Save me work since she probably already knows them.

I don’t think they are all IV, the 5 on the letter. But some RA medicines are RA. They have a room at my clinic where they give IV medicines.

Hi Karen, I know. This is the first medicine that gave me help and hope. After going 8 months just getting worse, I don’t want to “try” another medicine. I’m afraid of going backwards.
And all these medicines take months to assess. If you are on a med that won’t help, then you can waste all those months.

I keep writing responses and SPO? continues to refresh mid-message and when I get back in, the mag is gone and I have to start over. Debbie, I’m trying to say that I can’t believe they are doing this. 😠😧 They shouldn’t be allowed to take away a medicine when somebody has tried others and has finally found one that works. I really am thinking they had better make exceptions. Could u use another carrier? Or an additional one if u had to?

Hello I read below. I walked this morning and then showered and went to two beauty supplies because buy different products at each of them. Sally’s is open to the public and CosmoProf you have to be licensed to walk in the door. Then I went to WM to return the Better Homes and Gardens heater I bought yesterday because the heat out so i think it will be better it heated but didnt blow out so I read reviews this morning and got the Lasko one. It does blow out so should be better. It was $2.11 cheaper……I wasnt… Read more »

It sounds like you made the right decision to return the other heater. Best to just subtract the return from your checkbook and add in the full price of the new purchase. That is how it will appear on your bank statement. It will show the credit of the return and a new purchase of the second heater.

🤣. When you think about it in the old days I think a tea cup was only 6 ounces and the bags haven’t got bigger. But we use bigger cups. More water. I bet the cup you are using is probably 12 ounces. You need 2 tea bags just to make it a normal strength. What flavor tea are you drinking?

When I’m using my big mug I just let the tea steep longer, I like strong tea, I also leave the tea bag in the cup. The longer you steep the bag the more flavor there is😋

Plain Lipton tea bags. I guess I’m a conventionalist. Don’t want to try new things, don’t like to see things go away. Boring I guess. That’s okay, I like it. 🤗
(I usually get messed up when I try new things.)

Good morning Bella Buds. I’m glad I don’t have to watch for a repair person. It was nice having my bed fully functioning. My friend Nancy was supposed to have surgery this morning for breast cancer. I hope it went well. I was texting her last night and asked her who was going with her to Lexington. She said the whole family! Basically 9, including her, and they all went up last night and got motel rooms. 😁. I’m thinking, for outpatient surgery?! They did not have to be to the hospital until 5 our time 6 Lexington. So surgery… Read more »

Nancy is having a lumpectomy I think they all it. They think they got it early and she won’t need chemo or radiation. I hope so. All women should have an annual mammogram, including you!

You mean a smash-a-gram? I had one of those one time. The woman must have been mad at all women, as she just slammed it down on me. Not easy, not slow, not close by, but from a foot above, and just slammed me. I thought I was going to lose my boob, from the slam and from trying to rip it away from her. Never had one again. And won’t.

That is very rare. I have one done every year sometimes two and it has never happened to me. They always try hard to cause as little discomfort as possible. Your life may very well depend on it. You should get it done, tell the tech what you experienced before.
