Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA

Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.

There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. The chicks will continue to grow in the nest for about three to four weeks before fledging. More information about the cams, set-up or to make a donation please visit alyssasnaturesanctuary.org.

I watched the American Revolution last night it was really good Ken Burns made it. I believe there’s 3 episodes the second one is on tonight .you don’t know anything about history unless you see this, and learn how America was made

Good evening…today we went to get a picture of DH’s framed (our friend who owned the gift shop now has a work shop at their new house)…it was interesting but so different…no cute little shop to look at things while they chatted…near the end, his wife came in with their dogs, yay!! I’ve missed them, especially my favorite one…gave him a treat. I wish they still had their gift shop…she gave me some candy bars (they had them in their shop, specialty ones), she’s so sweet. We might have pizza but not really hungry yet…DH cooked one of his hamburger… Read more »

What a nice time Lynn. Did they give a reason for closing the shop? Maybe they just wanted less stress. Glad you got to see the doggies and visit and you got special candy. What kind of concoction does your husband cook? I’m sure low carb. Does he enjoy cooking?

I didn’t even know catnip was grown til I came here. 😳 Now I see it’s actually a shrub looking plant. I wonder what it tastes like. 🤔

Good job, Julie. I say hello once, and wait — it wastes them about 30 seconds before they (or the robot) figure/s it out. 🫢

Hi, I did get cat litter but I didn’t go get bird seed today after lifting the cat litter a couple of times I needed to give my back a break, I did go and get some gummy’s for later. I’m making tuna helper for a easy dinner will add onions and peas to it. Its stove top tuna casseerole😋😃

I agree, I couldn’t go another day w/o the cat litter so that was a must the birds will be OK, there’s lots of plants I have left up that have seeds on them

My mom always told me not to do that stuff. She said – make a man do it, their backs are stronger. She never had back trouble. I wish I had listened.
