Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA
Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.
There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. The chicks will continue to grow in the nest for about three to four weeks before fledging. More information about the cams, set-up or to make a donation please visit alyssasnaturesanctuary.org.

Both the Decorahs look like they might lay an egg
Oh good! I will check them out. 🤗
Just saw Brittany Mahomes’ new SI Swimsuit photo. I hope she doesn’t have to get anywhere real fast wearing that thing!!
hahahahaha
She didnt look good??
The way that top is, she almost doesn’t have a top on. I guess I could say the same thing about the bottom part, but it’s a little more secure. But she looks great for just having had a baby and three others before that.
I know I havent been here much today, no reason…………eagles to watch now.
Rick ade loaded radishes at my request and spinach (from his garden) stuffed chicken breasts
your food always looks so pretty; and tasty 😋
Rick is a wonderful cook.
He is
Thanks Pam, it was good
Dinner for a queen! 😂 You are watching Decorah and which other one Ardyth?
Both the Decorahs
I kind of watch them also. Not all the time though. 😉
I hope Duke hatches all 3 eggs. I need to check NEFL i really prefer SPO chats.
I like SPO chats also. Beau at NEFL has become quite the Daddy! I’m still wondering why no one at the SPO Big Bear site has said anything about Sandy. I know you mentioned that they probably don’t see YouTube or maybe facebook, but I would think they would have gotten word somehow. I thought ML-WA would know. But I guess not. By the way, there is a tribute for Sandy on youtube. The picture shows her wearing a green button-down shirt-type sweater-vest. It is accompanied by “Wind beneath my wings” music. And if you hit “more” on the narrative… Read more »
I’ve seen several short tributes to Sandy on Facebook. I think I saw the one Wind Beneath My Wings. FOBBV has a group you can join on Facebook.
I don’t do Facebook very much.
I spend about 30 minutes there every night, earlier in the day too if I get a notification or if someone tells me they posted pictures.
I got scared of it years ago and never got over it. The fact that their “founder” is who he is, doesn’t make me feel any better.
I don’t know much about Zuckerberg. What scared you?
Well, way back then, it came out that someone else founded Facebook, but somehow Zuckerberg won the fight. Aso, he is a big fan of T. One of his right hand men at the podium.
Looks delicious. I don’t think I’ve ever had cooked radishes. I got very confused reading Decorah today. It is one of the reason I wish they named the eagles. D could stand for Dad or Decorah. M can stand for male or Mom. Sometimes H was used for Hamlet. Then there are numbers for 1st and second. Someone said the original female was found dead, someone said no. I’ve even had trouble just a few times with S because it can stand for son or sister. I’d rather real names for eagles, they won’t care! And just spell out son.… Read more »
Fran was confused. Mom Decorah is still alive and well, at another nest with no cam.
Yes it is confusing for me too…..they dont do names and I am ok with that.
Thanks. I’m not ok with no names for the adults but it is their cam and their call. I like the numbers for the eaglets because they are chronological and that helps date the eaglet.
Is this at Decorah North? I wonder why she left?
Hi Ardy. The food looks delicious. Does Rick ever get leaf miner worms on his spinach? I had them bad last uear. On my too.
I gotta go do Casey’s supper, right when every one gets here!
I’ll stay on. Just relaxing in my recliner. Will answer your email.
I’ll wait, Debbie. 😘 Take care of the baby.
Karen, how are things on your end?
Well, I have been busy the last few days going to an appointment for me and an appointment for my husband and running errands everywhere. So I am basically burnt out. 🤣😂 But I am doing okay. How are you doing? Are you making lots of changes to your yard or your gardens?
Taking care of health and everything else keeps one busy! Hopefully you are caught up and can rest.
Thank you. I know you went to the doctor recently, are you okay?
Yes, Thanks for asking. I had an MRI of my neck last week just to assess the status of long standing degenerative arthritis. I see the spine Doc in Ortho next month. I was having increased neck pain into my arm and numbness in hand and fingers, Arnica has helped and being more mindful of neck and head posture. That is what my neck worse. I have a bad habit of holding my head downward while I read, puzzle or am on my Ipad.
Oh no, Lynn! that sounds pretty painful. I’m sorry you have to go through that. It would be hard not to hold one’s head down, I don’t know how I would make sure I didn’t do that. Is there some kind of brace or something you can wear at home by yourself that will help you do that? Do you think they may have to do spinal surgery? My husband has had four of those. They do help.
It’s not hard. I just have to be mindful and am training myself to not lower my head so far and little changes like putting my iPad or book on something that raises it higher on my lap when in my recliner. Your hubbie had four spinal surgeries!! My gosh, though it sounds like it helped? Was it arthritis or a spinal injury? I hope I never have to just because the thought terrifies me. Though I did fine having both knees replaced years ago.
I’m here.
Hi again Debbie. 😍 How are you feeling today?
Doing good today. How about you?
Still kind of tired, but okay, thanks. Long story about the arthritis and rheumatologist, etc., but I have been referred to an actual rheumatoid arthritis doctor to get him involved in my case. Crazy story.
That is wonderful Karen! They know things other docs don’t.
Yes, I’m excited. This hand doctor told me that I have it all through my body. I remember you saying something to that effect.
Rheumatoid is inflammation where the immune system attacks the body, so it can be all over. Or Theo is wear and tear. One knee can be worn down to the bone, the other knee just fine.
I’m back until I go get my supper.
🤗
Dinners done so I’m going to eat and lay down, have a beautiful night😍
Enjoy it Julie. Good night.
Nightie night Julie👋
Sorry to cut out with you just getting here but sitting hurts my back, so later woman😘
Bye. Relax and enjoy your evening with Jade.
Good night, sweet Julie. 😘 Thank you for the beautiful card! Although now I can’t send it to you, so I’ll have to find a different one. 🙂 Time slipped up on me, I’m sorry I missed you again. I hope you sleep good, and wake up pain free. Mwah!! 😍🦋🤗🦅💗😺🌸
Hi Karen🙂✋
Hi Lin, I said hi also, somewhere. 😂
I wish I had an address.
We thought Casey might be having pain so we gave him some pain medicine we had on had. He knew exactly what we were doing from the time Jo went after the medicine and a syringe. We had not said a word. In fact I think he knew before me Jo was doing it.
Hi Debbie. Is Casey okay?
I think it is ok. The vet thinks arthritis.
Poor thing. Does the med help him with the pain? How can you tell he is in pain?
It is hard just observe and guess. It helps we have had him a long time.
Yeah, we do get to know our babies. I’ve just never had a bird that size, or for any length of time. And i have no idea how I would tell. I’m assuming they would move slowly just like anyone else with arthritis.
Take longer breaks where they are still. We saw Casey laying in his box instead of standing and chewing.
Thanks for explaining, Debbie. I’m glad he knows when to take it easy. Smart baby. 💗
Giving him the pain med will he still be able to grab his perch?
Yes they were given by a very good avian vet.
Did you check the date?
Yes they expired by six months I think they were ok. I was given a stock bottle once with my usual label on top. It was expired. I peeled off my label and the actual bottle said it didn’t expire for over a year more!
Poor little man. I hope he feels better. It’s so good that you know when he’s hurting and can do something about it. Such good Moms! ❤️
It is hard to tell. They have rest periods naturally so you can’t be sure just because they hunker down and shut their eyes.
Hi just plunked down in my recliner with a cuppa tea and too lazy to go get my little book I keep my passwords in. So not able to sign in. Hopefully this post will show. it’s Lin🙂 Hope everyone is well!
Howdy Lin what’s up?
Hi. Just saw you were going to go relax so thoight I’d say howdy before you left🙂
Glad I got to see you🤓 hey one goat is getting ready to kid, I have been posting over at the goat cam😍
Oh, thanks for telling me!
Hi Lin! Does your iPad not do passwords? It stores my passwords. I have face recognition.
Hi🙂 I don’t store passwords. You are much braver than I, using face recognition! I do have passwords but keep them in a little book that I left on my desk in a back room I call my office. I’m too snuggled in my recliner to get my a..ss up to go get it!
I think face recognition is safer than the book. Plus since you don’t have to type in the password I use MUCH stronger gibberish passwords.
that is smart to use strong passwords. Me too.
me too
do you know you can hit remember me when you sign in and you won’t need to put your name and password every time
I didn’t. Thank you Deborah!
Hi Lin. 🤗
Hi Karen🙂 Nice to see you!
Hi Lin
just finished supper, off to bed
