Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA
Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.
There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. I read a short bit about Alysa Liu; that poor woman, she’s only 20. She quit skating at 16 because “they” wouldn’t leave her alone, told her what to eat, when to eat, how long to practice, what to practice; she had no life. This Olympics marks her comeback on her terms; and look how great she is! I’m so happy for her.
I think she won something prestigious at age 13, but didn’t catch what. But I tell you, her birth circumstances were pretty strange. Apparently it worked out for all of them.
Taking that 2 year break was huge for her; now it’s fun again.
Yes she seems to skate with such joy and happiness. She just wants to skate her best without caring too much about winning just the joy of it. So many excellent skaters would do so much better without the pressure. I think that is what works for Alysa.

I was wondering, myself. The last time I saw her say anything was at 1:42, when she was lying down near the heater. Then at 3:02 she replied to a comment. I guess she took a long nap, ate supper, and just had to go to bed. ?? I hope she is okay. ❤️
I was just watching the women’s sprint. Where did this sport ever come from? It looks totally exhausting!
I can tell you from experience that cross-country is completely exhausting; i did it once in Yellowstone — notice the word once!
🤣🤯 Funny you should use the word “once,” Pam. Same thing happened to me! I couldn’t believe I was actually doing it. And then I had to get back to base! Didn’t accomplish anything other than getting exhausted, like you said. Breckenridge lost its charm for me for a while. And that’s hard to do! Once was way more than enough! And yet, some people love it.
😄 That’s a terrible sport; my goodness! Breck was always my go-to place for a single day of downhill; they had the best runs. Steamboat or Crested Butte for weekenders. My Dad was born in Crested Butte.
Oh my! The first time I saw Breckenridge, when we drove in by car, it took my breath away! I never did try downhill skiing, though, 😞. I was too afraid. I had broken my elbow jumping out of a swing. But I wanted to. I really envied those who could do it. You had some nice experiences, Pam. 😍

This was alot of years ago, but they did allow cross country and snowmobiles. I was in Montana; the rental shops were at the entrance.
So are you thinking that they don’t allow that stuff any more? I was on a family vacation to Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons. It was okay, I liked the bears. I knew not to feed them, but it sure was tempting. 🧸🐻
There were bison everywhere. When we rented the snowmobiles, the rental folks reminded us this was their home, not ours and to respect that. Not a problem 😟
Our dew points are in the negative right now in the Springs. Absolutely NO moisture! 🤯 No wonder I feel like a lobster.

Just like children! Kids always want to play with the boxes, forget the toys. You can’t hide inside a toy, or put stuff in it, like your toys, your dinner, etc. Cats are more fun to watch, though. 😊

😅😂 I’ve been going back and forth, between the Olympics and ABC.. I’m hitting commercials when I go to ABC, and I found out that Idol isn’t even on here tonight. So I have been going back and forth just for those commercials! 😂 Nothing lost, though. Yay!
