Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA
Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.
There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. Jo got a 15 lb. Kroger turkey. I don’t think she found a breast. She was on the phone with me for guidance and said here is a small turkey breast it only weighs 3 lbs. I said Jo, does that say boneless? She said yes and I said don’t buy anything boneless.

Yep! I have a goal only of freezing the legs the day I cook it. That will make it easier to fit the rest in the fridge!

That’s a big bird, but it freezes so nicely after cooking 😋 Chuck got a 12 pounder. i wanted to have a lot of leftovers to freeze and eat later
Yea, I freeze it with the liquid that comes out of the bird. That helps a lot, and the vacuum sealing.
You don’t make gravey with the drippings?😳
Nope just bought a jar.
But you will still get your good drippings in your freezer bags😋

I don’t remember if I told you that our friends are in town from Oregon for 2 weeks. They have been doing that the last few years and then they rent a house. Wonderful Ardy! I remember this from last year. Seems they entertain a group for 2 nights. One friends, then maybe the other group is family? I remember they had a nice setup last year seems both inside and outside, maybe some cute decorations. I’m just saying all this from memory.
They dont have a family here in Tucson……just one party for the gang and then we had a couple get togethers with closer friends in that group. Tonight is just the six of us.

I would have probably done it by regions starting with New England. I could picture the states in that area.

Julie, my dad made me memorize them when I was a kid. I find the best way to remember is to think of how many of them there are beginning with each letter. For example there are 4 that begin with a, 3 that begin with c, etc. I find myself practicing absent-mindedly every 6 months or so. We should test each other sometime! 😘❤️
