Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA

Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.

There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. The chicks will continue to grow in the nest for about three to four weeks before fledging. More information about the cams, set-up or to make a donation please visit alyssasnaturesanctuary.org.

Thanks habibi.
What do you think about my testing idea for karen ?
I hope she reads it. But maybe it isnt a good idea for her.
Anyway, that is how we do it on humans , cats and dogs for a quick, cheap and easy self test.

I had to go find the suggestion, I had not read it. I found it interesting. The only problem is catching the urine, especially with a female dog that squats, to get the jar under there and the dog doesn’t stop peeing. I think vets usually extract urine directly from the urethra using a catheter.

Yes, you are right. Might be difficult to catch the urine.
Vet could take some though, to find out. But….oh well, it was just an idea.
Byeee sweetie.😘

Debbie, i saw a part of the youtube video of the golden girls, blanche’s new breasts. So funny, “why are there 17 sets of hooters on the coffee table ?!” Lol.
Reminder : pills😘
In this gif it would be easy, to catch the urine 😂.

Hi. Busy night! So, turns out the vet thinks Dutchess has a urinary tract infection. I went over everything with the vet, and she did an ultrasound of her stomach area, to include her digestive system and her reproductive organs, and that’s when said she thinks it’s a UTI. (She had previously done only x-rays in the first visit.) She said she would like to also do a UA blood test, but at the cost of another $134, I told her that since she’s on antibiotics already and a UTI would be cured with antibiotics I didn’t think we needed… Read more »

Karen we posted one minute apart. Actually a UTI is fairly good news if that is the real culprit. They seem to be easy to treat. Does she now think Dutchess never had pancreatitis, or does she think she has 2 things going on? Royal canine dry is what Macie eats. The dry isn’t too expensive because the bag is so big. I freeze about two thirds of it. It cost about $80 which seems so much, but it lasts about 6 months. Dutchess probably has cans which is very expensive. You may have accidentally found the vet you were… Read more »

Debbie, the vet said she has pancreatitis as well as the uti. I asked her how she got them and she said it could just be anything. When they get older they start getting things. I told her what her environment is and she said you just never know. This is the Royal Canin canned formula. She’s little and doesn’t eat too much, but I’ll try and switch her over to something else that’s a little less expensive on down the road, I think. And I think you are right, I think I may have found that vet. And, she’s… Read more »

I have always heard it’s from fatty foods so that’s why you don’t give them certain things at Thanksgiving and all the time, really. I bet soon she’ll start feeling better.

Karen You could try to catch some dog-urine with a clean container, when your dog pees. Then fill it in a very clean glass jar with screw cap or something similar. Take it to the vet right away, then vet can put a testing strip in it, to see if there still is infection. Cant be expensive. Those strips are very cheap. Your vet didnt do that, when thinking of UTI ? When it tests positive for blood, leukocytes, nitrite (represents bacteria) , then there still is infection and the antibiotic was a wrong one for UTI. Not every antibiotic… Read more »

Hey Debbie, I’m so sorry I haven’t been able to talk before now, but I have literally just sat down. 😨 I”m giving the baby her antibiotic for the night and then going to bed. So hoping there is nothing else wrong. She’s almost 11, and this is when things can start happening fast. But still hoping for another good seven or eight years. My last doggie lived till almost 18. ❤️ I hope you had an okay day, I think I saw that you were busy with going through things and trying to get rid of as much as… Read more »

Hi Julie! Sounds like you had a wonderful dinner and some excellent desserts. Yum!! Just pancakes, eggs, and sausages here. Took forever, though. Then feeding Dutchess the special food and pampering her and giving her the medicine, and all that, kept me busy all night. I hope you enjoy your TV, I really didn’t watch any TV tonight actually. Surprise for me!! I hope to talk to you more tomorrow. Sleep good and wake up feeling refreshed and ready to snow driveways. I say that only because I think you will be trying to do that. Don’t overdo though. 🤗😍😘

I understand. It might come to sending virtual cards. There is a web site where you can sorta custom make cards and personalize them. Some have blinking lights and motion and scenes. They are really nice. You have to pay for the service but I think it is way cheaper than a real card + postage.

The foundation helps raise chicks for endanger Cranes around the world. One being the Crown Crane, there are so many of these birds that are endanged, one being the whooping Crane

They are but going exstinct, the crown Crane is being poached to be displays, added to peoples gardens in China and Japan. They have rescued like 200 Cranes and have released the wild birds back into the wild. Lots of the birds have injuries from being caught and having wings clipped to short so they don’t fly away, also catching them causes leg damage
