Live Hummingbird Nest Cam – Oceanside, CA

Your watching a live broadcast of wild female hummingbirds nesting.

There are several Hummers that nest in this yard. Their nests are usually located bushes and no larger than the size of a golf ball. The nest is made from feathers, leaves and other parts of plant matter. She then wraps this material together with spider webs. The eggs she lays are about the size of a breath mint(tic-tac). Hummingbirds lay 1 or 2 eggs per clutch. You can expect to see them hatch after about 14-16 days from the date they are laid. The chicks will continue to grow in the nest for about three to four weeks before fledging. More information about the cams, set-up or to make a donation please visit alyssasnaturesanctuary.org.

Hello ladies. I got to bed early enough last night, but woke up at 1:00 in the morning and couldn’t sleep until 3:00. I checked my eagle’s nests, welcomed a new egg, and slept good after that. I went and drove around a few areas in town today, where folks were holding signs up. I had fun alternating between playing the radio loudly and honking my horn. Time for Dutchess. I hope everyone had a nice day. 🥰🌸💙

My Dad used to tell us not to honk a horn because it was for an emergency or warning. But he would honk in a tunnel when others were honking I guess because he knew no one would think it was a warning. I guess the same thing would apply to the marches. .

KyDebbie
March 28, 2026 3:47 pm

Corn, green beans, white potatoes all ways, basic tossed salad, occasionally cole slaw, white beans, tomatoes. She will eat some carrots, but limited ways. That is probably the full list. Mac and cheese which is a side but not a veggie! She will eat bell pepper on pizza and in some things. Onion only if it is cooked in something and the flavor is undetectable.

Oh yes, they are so good roasted!! I will always call them brussel sprouts as opposed to Brussels. I don’t figure the ones I eat were born in Belgium, so I’ll probably call thm brussel forever. 😂 My whole family, since pre-1935, calls them brussel.
